Congrats to Jon and Shauna! Moun10Tyke will soon discover that he is one lucky kid. You may have to slow down a bit on geocaching, but trust me, it will all be worth it once you get to start taking along Moun10Tyke on your journeys.

I am so glad that I got to participate in that "one last big hike" the other weekend with you. You have taught me -- and so many others -- a whole lot about geocaching, and done so much to help the game and the community. Now, you have a whole community of geocaching parents who YOU can call upon for help and advice about parenting at any time.

Congratulations!

(Though it is hard to do, the following is mumbling with tongue in cheek  )

grumble, grumble. well, there goes another couple. now it's going to be 'baby this' and 'baby that'! 'baby, baby, baby' it'll be about 20 years before we can have an intellegent conversation again. sigh. (end mumble)

Thanks for the picture, he is a cute one. When does he get his first GPSr? (now there's an idea for Hasbro!)

Jon and Shauna, here are a few of my favorite boy quotes. Being a parent of a boy is challenging, fun and rewarding. There is nothing like a little boy! Congratulations!

THERE COMES A TIME

in every rightly constructed boy's life when he has a raging desire to go somewhere and dig for hidden treasure.

~ Mark Twain ~

WHY GOD MADE LITTLE BOYS

God made a world out of his dreams,

Of magic mountains, oceans and streams,

Prairies and plains and wooded land.

Then paused and thought, "I need someone to stand.

On top of the mountains, to conquer the seas,

Explore the plains and climb the trees.

Someone to start out small and grow,

Sturdy and strong like a tree" and so

He created boys, full of spirit and fun

To explore and conquer, to romp and run

With dirty faces, and banged up chins

With courageous hearts and boyish grins.

And when He had completed the task He'd begun,

He surely said, "That is a job well done."

~ Author Unknown ~

BOYS ARE FOUND EVERYWHERE

on top of, underneath, inside of, climbing on, swinging from, running around or jumping to... A boy is truth with dirt on his face, beauty with a cut on his finger, wisdom with bubble gum in his hair, and the Hope of the future with a frog in his pocket.

~ Alan Marshall Beck ~

GOD MADE THE LITTLE BOYS FOR FUN, FOR ROUGH AND TUMBLE TIMES OF PLAY;

He made their little legs to run and race and scamper through the day.

He made them strong for climbing trees. He suited them for horns and drums,

And filled them full of revelries so they could be their father's chums.

~ Edgar Guest ~

Some of you are looking at this forum, and thinking "Oh yeah, now THAT will slow him down." What you forget about is nighttime feedings, running 'to the store' for diapers and such, and using the Kavuday method of rocking a baby to sleep. You know that Jon just lays in bed at night wishing that he could get out and do another cache, but Shawna makes him stay home after midnight. Now, Jon will be telling her "Hey, since I'm up anyway..." And then he will be volunteering to make a late night run to the store for necessary supplies, choosing a new route every time, right past the latest cache. When he finds out that Kavuday packs up the kids for a car ride when they can't sleep, he will have another excuse. And when he finds out how Kavuday uses his added resources to grab caches that would otherwise seem impossible, look out.

Congratulations to you both, hope you're getting some sleep.

That explains why my new cache hasn't been approved yet :tired: !

Hey, it's too nice outside to be stuck inside reviewing caches. And the flip side is that at our house at least, it is too hot inside to do anything until after 10:00. :tired:

Actually bad timing and all we are out of town this weekend with no internet access. I am trying to get everything cleared up before I leave. MT Fellwalker will be helping us out over the weekend as will several other reviewers.

Back on topic before I have to mod myself!!!

Congrats!!!! Boys are the best! Enjoy every moment because they grow up so fast. I look forward to meeting Jameson at Seth!'s event.

Shouldn't you include the coords for the hospital where the birth was?

Shouldn't that be Moun10Tryke?

Actually both were suggested  , but Moun10Tyke was the final decision.

:cry:;):cry:;) That's too funny. Early registration. :cry::tired:;):tired:

It's not funny - he'll have logged more caches than I in another 6 months or so. :(;)

I thought it only counts when you sign the log.

(If we make an exception, we'll get a discussion between pro-lifers and pro-choicers here...)
