Quix
I want to find a specific cache and clues given are encrypted using icons from The Selector. Would like hints on how to decrypt this type of clue. Thanks for any and all suggestions. - Quix Edited July 26, 2004 by Quix Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
You're going to have to be more specific. I never heard of such a thing. Do you have a link to the page? Quote Link to comment
2oldfarts (the rockhounders)
It sounds like you're refering to the Texas Geocachers icons for cache aspects, such as dog friendly, handicapped friendly, etc. Maybe a link to the cache would help and someone from the Texas assoc. could offer some insight. Mushtang
He's definitely talking about The Selector cache. The owner, TinSparrow, is a friend of mine. I know how to solve this one but I wouldn't want to give anything away. He's a really nice guy, however, and I'll bet if you emailed him for a hint he'd give you one. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
Very interesting cache. Unless the owner is willing to give you a hint Quix, you're gonna have to figure this one out by yourself. Quote Link to comment
Quix
Thanks guys. I'll shoot TinSparrow an email to see what hints he/she will share. I appreciate the responses. Quote Link to comment
+tirediron
Wow! Very clever... I think. Quote Link to comment
Mushtang
I'll shoot TinSparrow an email to see what hints he/she will share. TinSparrow is a guy. Notice the way I used the words "He" and "Him" in my reply to you earlier. Edited July 27, 2004 by Mushtang Quote Link to comment
+TinSparrow
Oh man! I turn my back for a second and here I'm being talked about again. Of all the caches I've hidden (or crafted?), this one by far has the most interesting cache page. I won't answer specific questions in these forums about the solution to this cache, but drop me a line and I'll try and give you a gentle nudge. Quote Link to comment
+fly46
Okay, TS, I just sent you a message, then I came in here to find this post! *shakes head* I hate it when I do that! Quote Link to comment
+The Commissar!
Man...I just had lunch with Mr. Sparrow and he was very tight lipped about The Selector. We did discuss a Geocaching weekend adventure to a land of many caches...Perhaps some internet research in BASIC cryptanalysis. It will come in handy for several other SC caches as well...
