+PandyBat
Does anyone know how I can go about accessing the Usenet group alt.rec.geocaching without using Outlook Express? I use Juno but can't figure out where to have the messages sent. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
I use Netscape mail to get there. You can also download one of the newsreaders out there. There are some free ones. Just Google "newsreader". You can also get there through Google, but I find that to be a royal pain to use. Edited July 24, 2004 by briansnat Quote Link to comment

For linux I use Knode, but in the past slrn was my news reader of choice. That said, the traffic is next to non-existant in that geocaching newsgroup. Quote Link to comment
+Team DEMP
You can read it with your browser via Google Groups - http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=l....rec.geocaching If you want an alternative newsreader, I prefer XNews Quote Link to comment

+blazerfan
I've got two words "Free Agent" the best news reader ever made. Quote Link to comment
+bobbyrockstar
I repeat "Forte Free Agent". There is whole other world out there-------try a specific newsreader. Quote Link to comment
+AuntieWeasel
Never liked Free Agent. Unfortunately, I hadn't loaded a newsreader on my machine after switching it to XP, and when I went to load one last week, I'm dipped if I can remember the one I had decided I liked best. I liked Xnews and newsXpress (one of which is the Windows version of the other) and Gravity. All three are free...and, if I'm not mistaken, all three are no longer being developed or actively supported. I think that may apply to Agent, too. On the other hand, Usenet is such an antique bit of the 'net, just about any application that will run will do the trick. And ANYTHING is better than Outlook Express. Quote Link to comment
+Wacka
Don't use ANY browser asociated newsreader or ones like Yahoo. Download a newsreader for Windows or the Mac and find the news server address from your ISP. Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
Gravity is good! Agreed. Iv'e used both agent and Microplanet Gravity (Gravity's predicessor) and Gravity won hands down. Agent is nothing to sneeze at though and either will serve you well. Quote Link to comment
+Jared_and_Tanis
I like MS Outlook.... (not express though). ~Jared Quote Link to comment
ju66l3r
I have always been partial to nn or tin. But they're a little rough to start using. Quote Link to comment
