+planetrobert
Would you pickup a bug thike this one?!? evil 14lb bug I am going to place it on an upcoming cache outing. What do you think? Whould you do it? I will be writing the TB's mission instructions on the ball. Edited July 20, 2004 by ralann Quote Link to comment
+pstar
Sure, why not? Should be easy enough to leave in proximity to caches that are off-the-beaten path so as not to be muggled or give away the cache but still be found by the caching community. Are you going to put it in a plastic baggie? Edited July 21, 2004 by pstar Quote Link to comment

+Cache Viking
If I knew I could move it in a reasonable amount of time and to a deserving cache, sure I would pick it up. Quote Link to comment
+bobbyrockstar
Look at the Cindy tb (here) I think this makes it to alot of event caches where it serves as a "booby prize". It has traveled almost 2000 miles!!! Do it! Edited July 21, 2004 by bobbyrockstar Quote Link to comment
+flask
not only would i pick it up, but i would travel several hours out of my way to do so. Quote Link to comment
+planetrobert
not only would i pick it up, but i would travel several hours out of my way to do so. If you are lucky it will make it your way. It will be released on the way to a trip to the sacramento area. I added a picture today. Quote Link to comment
+Morock & Miss C
Would you pickup a bug thike this one?!? Put it on a tall hill and maybe we can play bowling for marmots. Quote Link to comment
+TravelingViking
I released Traveling 10k http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=70478 (22lbs) at an event recently. The next day it was up a mountain - no paths for a mile - the following day someone else brought it down again. I think these are fun - maybe I'll do a large terracotta flower pot next... +Divine
LOL, those TBs would be nice to carry within the plane luggage. Edited July 22, 2004 by Divine Quote Link to comment
+Nero
no i wouldnt pick that up, i find large tb's with cinder blocks, and any large heavy, ackward items attached to be rather dumb... just my opinion. Quote Link to comment
+lostinflorida
Its more interesting then some of the junk I have seen being placed in some caches. But that is a whole other topic. Yea I would consider taking it. Quote Link to comment
+IV_Warrior
Well, having put a couple miles on Cindy, the cinderblock I'd have to say YES I'd move this travel bug. Granted, likely from one event to another, like I did with Cindy, but who knows I might even take it and leave near one of my caches. Quote Link to comment
+Eric K
It'll probably pick up some good stories on the looks people will get walking out of the woods with a bowling ball. http://www.usageocoins.com http://www.travelbugraces.com Quote Link to comment
dampeoples
Depends on if I knew of a place I could drop it off at Quote Link to comment
+AuntieWeasel
No, I wouldn't pick it up. I'm a lazy piece of work. But I would surely sit down next to it in the woods and laugh and laugh. Glad you went ahead and did it... Quote Link to comment
+planetrobert
Glad you went ahead and did it... well unless i had gotten a resounding negative responce i had alread made up my mind. i laughed for a few when I thought of it, then again when i actually dropped it. I think it probably will hop event caches mostly just due to the issues with trying to hide something like it. Quote Link to comment

+RedRouge
If it were in an easy to find geocache, sure. Otherwise... I'm just so small. Quote Link to comment
Rupert2
Of course I would pick it up. TBs should present some sort of challenge other than just moving them around. Lugging that thing through the woods would be a definate challenge, not to mention getting to see the looks on the muggles' face with you emerge from the forrest with a bowling ball. I love large bugs Here is one of my own. Not heavy but large: Geo Gnome Better than a heavy haul, I would love to see the look on the face of the TSA inspector scanning that luggage for a flight. +n5psp
Holy Guacamole! Now that's a big travel bug. I'd probably pick it up and move it, since it can be hidden *near* a smaller geocache in many locations. The look on the muggles' faces to see someone lugging that thing out of the woods WOULD be priceless. Gee now youall have given me a truly *evil* TB idea to go along with the large easy to find geocache that takes a grabbing tool and some patience to retrieve. Quote Link to comment
+wimseyguy
I would only pick this TB up if it was all downhill back to the car. The biggest, heaviest TB I have seen was a brick. I'm pretty sure mtn-man took it home from GW2. Quote Link to comment
+Wacka
Well, it's made it to the penninsula. I saw it at the BADGES meeting Sunday in Redwood City. Quote Link to comment

+flask
i laugh so much at this thread i nearly lose a sinus every time. if i had a lot of money or time i would go and get it. if i have to, i will make my own. caches over here DESERVE a bowling ball to lug around, by golly. Quote Link to comment

+Team GPSaxophone
not only would i pick it up, but i would travel several hours out of my way to do so. Ditto. I was hoping to get Cindy to visit my event, but she doesn't move very fast. This gives me another bug to add to my watch list. Quote Link to comment
+n5psp
Hmmm - did I just see a 110 pound anvil on sale in the latest Harbor Freight catalog? - hehehehehe. Extremely heavy anvil - $89.95 on sale Travel bug tag - about $5 hidden wildlife camera trip wired to geocache $49.95 Look on someone's face when they find the travel bug - priceless --- Then there's this seized up 307 cu in Oldsmobile long block that a TB tag could be stuck under a valve cover bolt or somewhere else on the engine Quote Link to comment

I also was thinking about a 20 dumb bell consider it a done deal, I'll send it out soon, not sure which option though, I still gotta decide. I'll let ya know when it gets released. +lostinjersey
I wanna pick it up so I can add a TB goal sheet and paint it with purple fur seriously though. i would pick it up. but I have no idea where I would leave. I cant picture any cache I've ever encountered being large enough to hold it, well except maybe this one Besides, any cache that i would feel comfortable leaving it next to (because it was so out of the way) I wouldnt want to carry a 14 lb bowling ball to, and if it was close enough to carry it to, I probably wouldnt feel comfortable leaving it there. I mean 14 lbs would get pretty heavy pretty quickly I imagine... but It'd be fun trying to find a place to hide it. Quote Link to comment
+planetrobert
Well as I assumed would happen it is traveling the event cache circuit. Beware more are on the way. Quote Link to comment

Rupert2
Ralann, Along those same lines... I have had this idea for at least 6 months but have never found a suitable bowling ball to do the trick. You beat me to the bowling ball but that just motivated me to get my TB launched. Rupert2
What a cool idea. That definately works around the "no traveling caches" policy. I don't like that policy but definately understand why it must be that way. The TB aspect also makes it effortless. GREAT IDEA! Quote Link to comment

+fly46
I wanna pick it up so I can add a TB goal sheet and paint it with purple fur Now, if you're going to be a smartass, get it right. I said paint it purple and add fur. And I *will* find one of that cacher's TBs specifically for that purpose. I actually had that same ammo box Idea. Maybe I'll just do it with something cheaper, like a peanutbutter jar or something. Quote Link to comment
