Will+Bill
We just found a really cool cache (FTF, actually ). Anyways, to get the coords to the cache, you had to decode morse code. Has anyone ever tried this before? It was a really fun challenge for us. Edited July 16, 2004 by Will+Bill Quote Link to comment
Stunod
I've done two like that. Both required you to LISTEN to the code. I found that to be MUCH harder than translating written code. Quote Link to comment
Will+Bill
Yeah, that was the deal in this one, too. If you go to the site, there is a .WAV file to play. Quote Link to comment

EScout
Can some one link a cache that has an audio file attached? And how do you attach an audio file to a cache page. If someone tells me I will link a simple program that creates code from text. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
theplank
Sometimes morse code is simply there, at least in Austria. Give Graz, the provincial capital of Styria, a visit and do the Schlossberg 2: Durch & Rauf!. Have a look at Graz (sorry, german or should I say 'austrian', only). Quote Link to comment
Mauison
Here's a morse code cache. Don't know morse code so haven't figured it out yet. Code Breaker Quote Link to comment
Bilder
The morse code cache up here has a link to a page on the hiders site with the .wav file located there. You can download a program that listens to audio files and decodes the morse. Just do a google search. Quote Link to comment

Renegade Knight
I did one in written morse code, that tranlated into Pig Latin. It got some groans. It has been archived as it served it's purpose. Quote Link to comment
Lazyboy & Mitey Mite
I've heard of such caches but I honestly wouldn't be interested in searching for one. Many cachers are pretty creative and there's something to interest almost everyone with this hobby. Edited July 16, 2004 by Lazyboy & Mitey Mite Quote Link to comment
Strapped-4-Cache
Here's a version of the Morse Code cache being done in our area : - by . You have to be sure to listen carefully to the code being played in order to get to the correct coords. Getting the info for the next stage is interesting as well, but I don't want to give anything away in the forums... - Mark (S-4-C) Quote Link to comment
Will+Bill
The link of the cache I was talking about was Skyhook. Sorry, I thought that I included it in my original post. Quote Link to comment
Quintheeskimo66
How about the code on this cache. This one was a headache to translate, but I had fun doing it, and it was very satisfying when I found it. Once Every Four Years Quote Link to comment
OuttaHand
Nearby we have Arpy's Re-Morse which gives much of the description of the cache in morse code. They do give a cheater hint that allows easier deciphering, though. Would love to say it's a great cache! But when my dad & I went to try it a few weeks ago, he plopped himself into a creek/muddy bank and we aborted. I think you can see his write-up if you look for the log by Tuck-A-Way. +Dan-oh
I should be so lucky as to only decode the morse code on this cache. It uses an MP3 recording of the morse code but then its encypted on top of that. My math challenged brain just couldn't get it though. Tucson Thompsen is evil! Quote Link to comment
EScout
CW MIDI is a simple program to convert text to morse audio. You can set the speed and a couple of choices of tone frequency. CW Get is the best morse code decoding software. This is a functional shareware. Use a mic on your sound card. You can use a laptop to listen to the code from another computer, or record it first on a recorder and play back into your mic...... or decode by ear...... Comments: Those of us that use morse code on the air, call it CW (continuous wave.) It is a true universal language. I have had contacts with people in over 160 countries using morse code. Just think, they can all communicate using only one common language. Quote Link to comment
Kit Fox
Try decoding the morse code in this cache. Then figure it out from there. It took me 2 1/2 hours to solve it, and I got a bad headache. Tejon Mystery Multi Yes, you can find a quick online morse code reader to decode the CW, but from there, you need to do it by hand. +Darkmoon
I have had one out since last year titled They Live Among Us. What evilness that I did was I copied all the Morse code to a jpeg so that you can't cut and paste it to a Morse Code translator. Not many people have done this cache because of the code and the fact it is a mystery/multi but I have gotten great reviews from the cachers who have done it! Darkmoon Quote Link to comment
legna and sOulbAit
Wow this is so cool how people think alike. I have not been on since (Welcome back; your last visit was on Jun 18 2004, 12:27 AM ) and just posted a Morse Code Cache like the ones being talked about here. "History of Morse Code" Use waypoint: GCK4CD. My dad use to be a ham operator "W4DRZ" and he was really good at it. I have to use the internet to do the translations. I had a friend tell me about this forum and I just had to check it out. Also working a new one with Braille for the cache cords. Will have to see if there are any more out there. Happy Geocaching. legna and sOulbAit Quote Link to comment
