Garmin Symbols

Recommended Posts

I know that this is an old thread but I'm bumping it today.

I have a brand new Legend HCx and since I'm new to GPS I'm trying to figure out what all my waypoint symbols mean. I did a few searchs here in the forum while I was also searching online.

Found this webpage which has the symbols that are used on the 60cx and I find it useful. Am posting the link in case anyone else may be interested.

In Expert GPS, create a waypoint and on the page that comes up, click on the symbol pulldown tab. It should show you a list of the symbols that are correct for the GPS you have identified. Those are the only ones that are applicable and can be used on your GPS anyway.

The Mapsource program and other units may show more / others. Symbol lists are "model specific".
