5¢
I am not looking for " I use a garmin etrex legend and I like it" I am looking for price is no object I would love to have this gps if i could afford it. What would be the best gps for geocaching and geocaching only specifically. Quote Link to comment
LETaylor
It doesn't exist. Such a device would have to be very small, have a large screen, an antenna that isn't affected by heavy tree cover, etc. Everyone here could add their own "must have" items; all of which would create design conflicts. (unlimited battery life using two AAA batteries. . .) Worry about the important stuff like what brand of backpack you should be carrying. (grin) Quote Link to comment
GeoKender
http://www.magellangps.com/en/products/product.asp?PRODID=1 Here is one you won't be spending $24,000 for. Quote Link to comment
ke6n
Maybe this? Yeah, that one... and a friend to lug it around for me. Quote Link to comment
CO Admin
Maybe this? Yeah, that one... and a friend to lug it around for me. It weighs 2.67 lbs, that plus a IPAQ 3975 with Bluetooth and you are set at under 3.25 lbs. thats not a lot of weight to carry. Quote Link to comment
Cache Viking
Maybe this? You can raise a flag on the antenna saying do not pay attention to me. If I were today buying a GPS just for caching I would get thet Garmin 60CS. I love my Garmin V for general purpose but since color and some additional memory I will not be jumping at a 60 yet. Maybe a replacement for the V like a VI will come out before long. Edited July 4, 2004 by Cache Viking Quote Link to comment
briansnat
I'd say the Garmin 60CS is the today's gold standard among consumer grade units. Quote Link to comment
