+EraSeek Posted June 27, 2004 Posted June 27, 2004 (edited) Yahoo. Found it! (With lots of help) A SERGEANT PRESTON, FROM THE CHALLENGE OF THE YUKON, 1955 DISTANCE FINDER. IT IS MADE OF STURDY ALUMINUM AND IS 2 1/2 X 5 INCHES. THE FINDER COMES WITH TWO CARDS, ONE EXPLAINS HOW THE TOOL WORKS AND THE SECOND CARD TELLS AND SHOWS DISTANCES FROM A TO B. ONE CARD HAS SOME WRITING ON IT BUT DOES NOTHING TO DETER FROM USING THE DISTANCE FINDER. THIS WAS A PREMIUM FROM QUAKER PUFFED WHEAT CEREAL AND WAS ISSUED IN 1955. VERY NICE CONDTION. +Wienerdog Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 How did you come across the information for the distance finder? What a fascinating cereal offering! Now that I know where it came from it brings to mind the cereal offerings to … buy a square inch of Alaska for a dollar… that were going on at about that same time. They had pretty deluxe cereal prizes back then. Mr wienerdog Quote

+EraSeek Posted June 30, 2004 Author Posted June 30, 2004 I talked to several surveyors, and e-mailed a few experts. The one that payed off was E Mailing the survey recovery lady. She passed it on to her boss and someone else and they found it on Ebay. Going for $10 starting price. Quote
