+EraSeek Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Even though my cache is still there, the focal point of why I put it there is sadly gone: http://www.komotv.com/stories/31747.htm Quote
+WeightMan Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 That is a shame. All that work and all that history. Quote
+Stump Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Yeah, that does suck. Glad I was able to visit it last month! Doesn't sound like it was insured either... Quote
+Patudles Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Those of us who drive that way to Seattle will miss it. I always look forward to that section of the drive from Wenatchee to Seattle. I will miss it. Quote
4Mergansers Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 Wow . . . I can't believe the Teanaway/Swauk grange is gone! I have such fond memories of that place, having lived around/near that area for about ten years. I worked on an election board there once (like most granges, it was also the local polling place). I will never forget the beautiful woodwork in the building, or all the characters who came from all around to vote, gossip and solve all the world's problems. You could never drive that stretch of road without looking for the stalwart white-sided icon in the fields. What a bummer. First Village Pizza, now this. I feel so sorry for all the grange supporters; such a heartbreak. Quote
+Wienerdog Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 OH NO! How sad. I LOVED that spot. I remember being there by myself on a sunny summer afternoon. There was not a soul around. After finding the cache I sat near the grange hall for a lunch break. It was one of those caches of EraSeek's that can bring your imagination to life. I remember thinking about all of the things that had probably gone on in that hall with the locals. Meetings, dances....etc. Quote
+Pepper Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 I did that one on Mothers day and it was just wonderful how sad aobut the old Church building. I bet it gets fixed up soon. Pepper Quote
