What is a Micro Cache!

I was wanting to know what a micro cahce meant. Does this mean you have to find one to find another like for example Pairie Triangle #1 #2 and #3 do I have to find one and two to find the big cache at three or is it just 3 little caches?

Also, Where can I go to read about all the different types of caches?

To me it means a small container, anything from a film canister to a 4 inch deep PVC tube to an M&M mini's container. You bring a pen to sign the log as one doesn't always fit, and arrive with itty bitty things to trade. Although I didn't see a definition per se on this site, there is this link, which explains the other types and the icons that represent them.

Cheers!

It sounds like what you are asking about is actually a Multi cache, rather than a "Micro" cache. (Although many people who do multi-caches will use micro-containers for the pre-cache stages.)

There isn't a particular set way to do multi's. Some will be a couple of stages which you do in sequence (each one giving coordinates or clues to the next stage, until you finally reach the cache). Others may give coordinates to a couple of stages, which you can do in whatever order you choose, where you then have to combine clues found from each of them to calculate the actual cache coordinates.

There are as many ways to play this game as there are people to come up with new ideas. That's part of the fun...seeing what kinds of creative twists people will think up next! icon_smile.gif

If a cache is listed as a "micro", it means that the cache container itself is very small...often, only including a small log sheet to sign, without any trade items.

Well, just to let everyone know that replyed to my question. We found all of the MICRO-MULTI Caches. They were small Film containers that film goes in. It was tuff finding them but we did it. I am not to fond of the micro caches I like the normal sized ones better, but that's why they make so many different kinds of caches to find and that's the whole point of the game. I still enjoy taking my family out on the weekends and going Geocaching. Its something that has gotten me and my husband off the couch from watching so much TV out into nature with our son so he can learn more about being outside instead of in the house on the couch watching tv on the weekends.
