+Hi-Tek Posted June 11, 2004 Posted June 11, 2004 Mr Eckington & Mr Lactodorum Isn't it time these 'No Tree Cover (New Forest)' series of caches were archived? I fed up with them coming up on my nearest caches list when they've not been available for yonks . Quote
Lactodorum Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 Hi Motley, the reason the caches are disabled is that discussions are still underway with the New Forest authorities (honestly ). If/when we, or rather GAGB, are successful they can all be "set free" again. If however agreement cannot be reached they will then be archived. I hope this explains the situation. Quote

My reason for asking about the archiving of these caches is I understood (from somewhere/somebody - can't recall where now) that the owners are no longer in the game. Their profile shows that they last visited GC.COM on Sept 22nd last year. Quote
Team Tate Posted June 13, 2004 Posted June 13, 2004 The owners - Nia, are no longer caching. I have the cache boxes in my possession which I retrieved from the NF Rangers ready to be replaced as soon as the New Forest becomes a caching area. They haven't been archived permanantly yet until this all goes through & then the caches can go up for adoption and all the details changed then. Sarah x Quote

Lactodorum Posted June 14, 2004 Posted June 14, 2004 We (Eckington and I) could archive the caches for the time being and then unarchive them once (if) permission is obtained. This would obviate the need to start again and would have the benefit of removing them from people's PQ's. Would people prefer this option? Quote
