desertart Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 (edited) I'm looking for a basic GPS to get started. Possibly a Magellan 300 series, 4000, Colortrak, Tracker etc., or a Garmin 12 or 38 or something comparable to any of these. Priced between $40 - $100. Thanks. Edited June 10, 2004 by desertart Quote
shootist357 Posted June 11, 2004 Posted June 11, 2004 I've got a magellan 2000 I'm going to be putting on ebay this weekend. I've used it for a couple of years, still in great condition. SHOOTIST Quote

+JeepCachr Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 I'm looking for a basic GPS to get started. Possibly a Magellan 300 series, 4000, Colortrak, Tracker etc., or a Garmin 12 or 38 or something comparable to any of these. Priced between $40 - $100. Thanks. For $100 buy a new yellow E-trex. I don't know about some of those other models but the garmin 38 is very dissapointing for geocaching. Not that you can't do it with one of those but it will be frustrating. Quote
desertart Posted June 13, 2004 Author Posted June 13, 2004 I just bought a Blazer 12 for $30 bucks. Nothing fancy, but it should get me from point A to B without getting lost. Thanks for the feedback! Quote
Computerdood Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Have a Garmin ETREX (YELLOW), a Data Cable/DC Power Combo, and a Case with viewing windows (use the unt while case protects. I will sell the whole lot for $75.00 This is a great unit, with good precision, and all the features people need for Geocacing. This will get you started, and see if you like the Sport. It is four months old, and I already have 22 finds. The manual is available on the Garmin site, or posted here: http://www.garmin.com/manuals/eTrex_OwnersManual.pdf I purchased a Magellan Sport Map and a GPS315 recently, and don't need the Etrex. Let me know. Quote
