YakDiver
Hi Need help, I have a Garmin E-Map with Mapsource and I would like to connect it to the laptop for real-time navigation is this possible, as I have all the neccecery cables and it would not work, I can download from e-map to laptop, but not in real time. Am I doing something wrong Richard Quote Link to comment
+RichardandJulie
Hi Richard I think the answer to that one is no. You could use a mapping like Autoroute 2004 and run your gps through that. I wanted to do te same as you but found the laptop a bit to big for the car, so actually went to a PDA with tomtom navigation. Regards Quote Link to comment
+cone_dxf & family
Hi Richard, it should work fine, I've never done it with an Emap, but with plenty of other garmin receivers. connect the GPS up, set the I/F to Garmin, Click the GPS tab in Mapsource, and click the Start Tracking button at the top, it should then show you the detail from your GPS and map in real time. What sort of error message do you get ? Mark Edited May 31, 2004 by cone_dxf & family Quote Link to comment
+RichardandJulie
Hi, Sorry about previous answer, seems my mapsource is out of date as well as my information. Humble apol's Regards Quote Link to comment
MrGrumpy
I have used two progs - Autoroute 2004 and MemoryMap, both of which have been fine for real-time navigation, though as I haven't got a PDA I'm limited to the times when I have a passenger willing to sit with a (hot) laptop on their lap. Hope this helps. Incidentally, I'm looking to connect with other MemoryMap users.... Graham Quote Link to comment
