Pirates of the Maine Posted August 13, 2003 Posted August 13, 2003 This has to the the coolest activity I've seem come down the pike in a long time. I'm not sure if I can consider myself a geo-cacher yet because I'm still planning my first outing. First things first though, I'm waiting for my Garmin Etrex Legend to arrive....aarrggg!!!!!! I currently have a magellan, an older one, but as of late it won't "lock on" to any satelites. I was introduced to this sport by a news paper article in last Saturday's paper. Ironic thing is that it is a rare occasion that I read a newspaper as of late. At any rate, I've spent hours combing this web site for any information I could get my hands on. I'm hooked already without even going out on a foray yet!!! Really looking forward to getting the kids into this too. Anyway, I just wanted to say "thanks" for the web site and to all those veterans who post information for us newbies!! Quote
ChevyFam Posted August 14, 2003 Posted August 14, 2003 I have been in your shoes recently! I ordered mine on a Wednesday morning and it got here late on Friday afternoon. All day Friday I was anxiously listening for the UPS to bring my GPS I got the Garmin eTrex Legend too. Love it! -Andrea Quote
+Mark 42 Posted August 14, 2003 Posted August 14, 2003 Ditto. But while I was waiting for my GPS I picked out a couple that I could figure out from the maps & clues, and gave them a try. Here's a message Thread on the topic... I hope that someday we will be able to put away our fears and prejudices and just laugh at people. Quote
