Frs/gmrs Radios

I am considering purchasing a pair of frs/gmrs for me and my girlfriend to use during an upcoming geo event.

I am interested in getting the GMRS (haven't decided if I'll get the license or not).

I was checking on ebay and saw this pair: and wanted to know if this would be a good set.

I saw where they had 2 watts of power where most standard units only have 2.

Any suggestions or recommendations??

Yep me too. I even bought a Fire Fox throat mic because most radio mic's are unable to handle my modulation very well. The throat mic works great! I barely notice it is there after a few minutes and I get very little ear fatigue from the button speaker although Fire Fox does sell an ear hook as a separate accessory to allow the button speaker to float over the ear.

Can you post a link to these please?

If there's a Costco nearby they had a good price on the Motorola T5950 radios. ($59.00 for the set with rechargable batteries and a desk charger) Plus there's a $15.00 rebate available from Motorola (I think through the end of this month)

They have all the FRS/GMRS channels as well as NOAA Weather channels. I've been delighted with mine.
