Using Meridian Plat In Diff Part Of The Country

I live in Southern Idaho (83301) and will be traveling to Missouri (65473) next week and thought I'd do some Caching.. Do I have to make any adjustments to the GPS unit?? Also flying Delta - any idea if they allow the use of the GPS in flight?

No. Plug in those coordinates and play.

If you move a long distace from when you last got a lock your GPS can take a while longer to figure out where it's at and get a lock in your new location. That's it.

otter may have already experienced that by not turning the GPSr on for a while.

NEVER had any problems with my MeriPlat...and I have flown from Phoenix to Michigan, turned it back on, and had a complete satellite lock in under a minute...same thing when I went from Phoenix to Portland...

AND...

When I turned on my Mag 315 after arriving in MOSCOW RUSSIA on my last trip there, I also had a lock in UNDER A MINUTE, no joke...

Funny thing about GPS signals on the Russia trip: I picked up quite a few more "GPS satellites" while standing in Red Square than I did anywhere else in North America...hmmmmm....GPS satellites, yea, sure.....

If you move more than 500 miles you may want to re intialize it per Magellan.

Other than possible intitalizine the GPS if you had it off, the only other thing you may want to do is change the clock (this is up to you).
