+Insp Gadget
What do you guys think about a person being a Travel Bug? I was thinking of getting the TB icon tattoed with a real number and seeing if people can log me.... Quote Link to comment
+BlueDeuce
We wouldn't have to search for this tattoo, right? Quote Link to comment
+welch
Only if this tatoo is on your forehead... (And I am really only JOKING, don't do it you whacko!! ) Quote Link to comment
+rusty_tlc
Umm, consider the fate of many TB's. If you go MIA we will know what happened. Quote Link to comment
+Newenglandah
That would be great, but how would we get you into an ammo box ?? lol? If your going to go that far you might as well bar code/copy right yourself so you can't be cloned!! I have a similar TB,called "natureboy's shadow" you can only log it if I run into you while out geocaching and I hand you a sheet with the info on how to log it.. Quote Link to comment
+bigredmed
Be careful, you could wind up in a travel bug prison. Quote Link to comment
+Lazyboy & Mitey Mite
That's a real personal TB. Quote Link to comment
hunter-bob
Thats cool I think how would we find you are you going to sit at a cacha all day? Quote Link to comment
+Kitch
Don't get credit for it unless we stuff you in a cache.... Quote Link to comment
+Riddlers
If it takes two weeks to drop you off at the next cache will you do windows while we have you? Quote Link to comment
+tstar
So Inspector, what would have as your "goal"? Maybe you could get a free trip somewhere cool...then again you could end up down the creek! Go for it!! It's an interesting tat idea... Quote Link to comment

+BlueDeuce
Ah! the perfect solution to travel bug thiefs. Just log yourself into a cache in a problem area and wait for them. Sidenote: hmmm, my 365th day of caching and still less than 1 posting a day. Edit: (Additional thought) I guess it's really 366. Stupid leapyear. +Kitch
I'm thinking you will need to find a geocacher that has a tattoo shop. Place a cache in/near the shop. You you can have the birthplace of the bug. Quote Link to comment

+hedberg
I'm just in the process of making three shirts, one for each member of our family, with the travel bug logo on, and a different bug number under each. With the text "I am a bug - log me!" on the back. Quote Link to comment
+tstar
Cool idea hedberg ! You ought to make four and leave one in a cache for some lucky cacher. Quote Link to comment
Squeaky Mouse
You as a human travel bug...what can I say...your too big to put in a cache...you snore, and you don't do dishes that often...what if no one picks ya up? Quote Link to comment

+Beta Test
I was thinking instead of getting the tatoo (You really want to explain geocaching every day of your life? ) Drill a second hole in the tag and run the chain through both hole so you can either have it to where you can or cant see the number, depending on who you want to log you. +Fireman78
You actually give me a great idea.. lets see who is REALLY dedicated to caching... I want to see real, permanant Geocaching tatoo's. If I can convince my wife, I'm gonna get one.. (Not on my forehead though) Quote Link to comment
dampeoples
The travel bug would make a great tat, bar code and all. Get your wife/son/daughter/dog/cat/monkey/parakeet one too, and label it COPY Quote Link to comment
+GEO*Trailblazer 1
It was found here today. PANDYBUG Quote Link to comment
+GentleWhisper
Hey I found that PandyBug today too... what a coincidence. Quote Link to comment
+PandyBat
LOL!! I've never been "grabbed" so many times in my life! LOL!! This is fun! I'll skip the tattooing part though. Nothing like being 90 yrs old with a serial number tattooed on your butt and can't remember what it was for...LOL Quote Link to comment
+hedberg
Tomorrow will I get our first TB t-shirt: http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=85216 It will be a black t-shirt with the image shown on the link (but in white text on black t-shirt)... I will upload a pic of it soon!! Quote Link to comment
+Oakley1975
Hey Fireman78, Insp Gadget does have a real permanent tatoo. So go see the wife... Quote Link to comment
+Ladycacher
What if someone gets attached? Your hear of people getting attached to travel bugs they find and keeping them forever or having a hard time letting go.....are you single? Quote Link to comment
+jamshid
You know, a TB tag would make an awesome ear ring for a GeoEvent. Quote Link to comment
The Junkyard Dogs
How about you just wear the dog tags as dog tags. Then you can skip the tattoo, or what to see if it is even worth it. Just an Idea: If you do have it done get it put on your tongue. Quote Link to comment
+BigFurryMonster
Would there be a 'copy' of you? Quote Link to comment
Deego
I have been a TB since Oct 2004 , nobody has tried to keep me :D unlike my other TB's that have all gone missing. No tattoo though, but you should see what I hang the tag off (normaly my car keys ) Quote Link to comment
+BilboB
It's been done. Not to burst your bubble Insp Gadget, but I logged It's Alive!!!! last September at a GeoMeet in Pheonix, Arizona; TB tattoo complete with tracking number. Quote Link to comment
+Insp Gadget
Well believe it or not, I went and got a tattoo of an actual Travel Bug with an active number on my chest! http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=150265 Quote Link to comment
+Eartha
That's unbelievable! Wouldn't it have been easier to wear the dog tag on a chain around your neck? Oops, too late now! Have fun with it, and I'm glad you didn't choose a more hidden part of your anatomy, Quote Link to comment
+Mortes Porta Vitae
Hello, also in germany is a Travel Bug walking around: http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=60008 Greetings from Berlin Oliver Quote Link to comment
+Glenn
Well believe it or not, I went and got a tattoo of an actual Travel Bug with an active number on my chest! http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=150265 In other news. A better scheme has been created to track travel bugs and to ensure no fake logs can't be made even if someone makes the tracking number public. Unfortunately the new system and old system are incompatable and the old travel bugs and their tracking numbers will be phased out over this summer. Quote Link to comment
+ShadowAce
Well I knew it wouldn't last forever. Someone else would have to go get one. Congrats, on the courage .. er sillyness? Welcome to the club I guess since I have had my tattoo for a long time. Just goes to show someone will duplicate any idea. hehehe Least mine has the bar code on the bug. Er.. edited before someone asks Yes the TB Number is there, just removed from the image to ensure I do not end up in another country again Edited May 25, 2005 by ShadowAce Quote Link to comment
+Insp Gadget
Yours is definately nicer than mine, however mine is quite a bit smaller. The tattoo artist said it wasn't possible to make the bar code design unless the TB was much bigger. It was a tossup between getting it bigger than I wanted and having the barcode. Size won out. LOL So I wonder who will be the next Human travel Bug??? Talk about an exclusing club!! Quote Link to comment
+Insp Gadget
On another note, how do I log myself into and out of the caches I find? I have tried that but when I look at the TB page, no distance show up. Quote Link to comment
+Alibags
It's definately something I have considered doing. That way I can be completely unique, just like the rest of the human TBs, LOL! Hmm, but then again, I do love my tattoos... Quote Link to comment
+Joypa
I found a tatooed human TBhereat a recent geocaching event. She had a slip of paper rolled up in an earring. Name was Spring Ring. Quote Link to comment
+prm
Does it count that I put a tag and a Groundspeak micro cylinder on my keychain, then activated it? Goal is to meet me, get the tracking number, and grab the bug..... I don't have the nerve for a tat. Cheers, Phil Quote Link to comment
