Rubberhead
Pardon me if I'm wrong but isn't the area of a circle = pi² x r? Since pi²= 9.87 then a circle with a radius of 4 miles would be slightly less than 40 square miles (4 x 9.87 = 39.48) Quote Link to comment
Wacka
It's pi r squared. I remember the saying: Pie are squared-no pie are round. Quote Link to comment

cache_us_if_you_can
87114 @ 4 miles = 14 caches (14*2)/100=0.28 caches per sq. miles I take great consolation that I'm only as dense as CurmudgeonlyGal I've heard Smurfs can be kinda dense... 96003 @ 4 miles = 13 caches (14*2)/100 = 0.26caches per mile² Quote Link to comment
bykenut
My zipcode is only about 8 miles away from Marky's (which is not far in San Jose, CA terms), but I'm about half as dense as him. 95119 @ 4 miles = 57 1.14 caches per square mile Quote Link to comment

Melrose Plant
Caches within 4 miles of 50125 = 1. Caches within 8 miles of 50125 = 4. Caches per square mile in search (1) = .02. Density--Black Hole-like. Edit: 3 out of 4 within the 8 miles are mine. Edited May 16, 2004 by Balboagirl Quote Link to comment
TeamK-9
Up until last week, 0 Caches @ 4 miles from 15626, but with the recent placement of my first cache it's: 1 Cache @ 4 miles from 15626. Or @ 8 miles, you get 13, but two are disabled and the one is mine, making for truly ten caches. So average cache density is .02 Quote Link to comment

Blind Avocado
I only have 11 within 4 miles, but that is because I am practically surrounded by Chino Hills state park. If I shift over a zip code or two I it would probably go up. Quote Link to comment

TEAM 360
Within a 4 mile radius of the city of TORTILLA FLAT, there are 11 caches for every 6 people that live in the area...based on an estimated population of 1.5 million residents, Phoenix would have to come up with 2,749,999 caches to match that kind of cache density... But then again, there are only 6 people who live in Tortilla Flat. Quote Link to comment
