+leecee
I received a Garmin Extrex yellow today and think it is faulty. When the unit is switched on, the LCD display is "off centre" to the left by about 3mm, i.e. not perfectly centred. Also, the black "frame" on the front of the display isn't symmetrical - the left side is a couple of mm narrower than the right. Could anyone with this unit please have a look at theirs and advise me before I return it? Thanks in advance, Lee. Quote Link to comment
+Naefearjustbeer
mine looks like that too and it is about 3 1/2 years old and has been like that since I got it. Works perfect. Quote Link to comment

The LCD display under it is well centered in the window though. I think as long as there is nothing rattling or moving about inside it that it is OK. Quote Link to comment
+Orti_
I've never notice, but mine looks like that too. It's more than a year old and I've never seen that. The etrex is working fine. I also dropped it last week (~2m on a concrete floor) and it is still working. A very robust GPS Edited May 8, 2004 by oa Quote Link to comment
+Pharisee
The black frame on my Legend ia also asymmetrical but the LCD display is centred correctly within it. Quote Link to comment
+Omally
Apparently it's to allow for the cable that goes from the LCD to the gubbins underneath. My Vista is the same. Quote Link to comment
+MoonHerb
If you're worried, take it into a shop that sells them and compare it with one of their display models. . . . . Quote Link to comment
+snaik
On the Legend if you press the Click Stick in, at same time press the power on you get into the test mode then press the Page button (top Right) it takes you through screens to check the LCD panel. Goto Garmin Secrets for more info Edited May 11, 2004 by Snaik Quote Link to comment
