I have 2 questions.

1..Can i use batteries that are 1/3 to 1/4

charged or must i always use new ones,I always

carry fresh ones with me.

2..At the site,I took 6 different readings and

picked the best one.Later i went back and the reading

was different.I used .662W,,,,later reading was.666W.

What do i do so i dont drive everyone crazy.Area had tree cover.

As long as you've got an extra set. Sometimes I swear that my eTrex Vista gives funny compass readings when they batteries are low, but since I use a real compass when I get close it doesn't really matter.

What you get is what you get. You are always going to have some error. That is part of the game. Sounds like you made a real attempt to get as accurate as possible. Now post them and let the seekers seek.

why the mad face. dont sweat it.

stand by the cache and take a reading. as long as you have a good lock on the satellites and youre set to wgs84 your good. your hints or clues will steer all but the most creatively challenged in the right direction.

as far as batteries..

carry an extra set of good ones with you. use up what you have till they are dead and then drop in the new ones. i prefer rechargeables myself.

We were just talking about batteries over in the General section. What you should do is get four of the 1600 Nimh rechargeable batteries and a recharger. That way you always start out with fresh batteries and have a fresh set if the first set run down. And it will also be a long time before you have to buy another set of throwaway batteries again.

Only off by 24 feet! (.001=6.076 feet)

Who's complaining? The next guy may be off in the opposite direction and be standing on your cache!

- I always have the "plus" tolerances added together; nothing fits -
