+NBJPoppa Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 What, you think these places make people cross? Quote
+GEM's Posted November 12, 2004 Author Posted November 12, 2004 (edited) No new news Ronnie is still at large. I have been considering making a revisit to this location soon..It looks the Good Stuff & runhills and I are the only visitors. Edited November 12, 2004 by GEM's Quote
+Team Noltex Posted November 13, 2004 Posted November 13, 2004 Let me know, GEM's, I may be interested if the schedule works. I'll be your muscle in case Ronnies still running around! Quote
+LthrWrk Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 What an interesting if not scary thread. Those involved or impacted by this Ronnie fella should inquire about completeing a "Victims Impact Statement". The prosecuting attorney's office should be able to send you one. I completed one for a local punk with a very smallish incident. Got the little criminal much longer in jail than otherwise might have happened. For this little creatin who rifled the car at Mill Town Crossing. A band of them hoodlums were camping near the bridge at Conway. Skagit County Sheriffs along with assistance from WSP cleared out a bunch of em. Not to mention the drug lab that was in a travel trailer there. I wonder if the car pilferer was one of em? Very glad that no one has been seriously injured from these encounters. It is a wild wild world we live in sometimes. Quote
+evergreenhiker! Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 This cache interests me too. I've been thinking of doing it for a long time, but just havent' gone down there. Quote
+5 Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 Hey I'd love to tag along if it works with my schedule. Maybe if Ronnie's unlucky, we'll find him? Quote
The Good Stuff Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 The frightening experience at Buck's Crossing could happen to anyone anywhere doing anything. The trails in that area are very popular and get lots of activity, it is a great place for a cache. We survived that day by Gods will. Those two men were heavily armed and heavily intoxicated and we happened into a hostile environment. We learned a lot that day. We were grateful to have been with our friend GEM's. The Good Stuff Quote
+GEM's Posted November 19, 2004 Author Posted November 19, 2004 We were grateful to have been with our friend GEM's. The feeling is mutual...God was present ...and I'll definately go back to that cache...although I didn't want to for quite some time, I'm ready now...even thinking about making it my 1000th..anyone want to set a date and join me? Quote
The Good Stuff Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 We could.............we are ready too. Quote
+runhills Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 I wasn't part of the unfortunate experience but I do have strong feelings about this cache and would like to join your re-visit? Not for the possibility of meeting the hostiles but for the opposite...a good hike in the beauty of Washington woods with fellow cachers. Quote

+evergreenhiker! Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 Figure it would be a Sat or Sunday right? First weekend or second weekend in December? Quote
+Bull Moose Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 Is ronnie still at large?? We should hire a bounty hunter and have an event cache to bring Ronnie to justice. Quote
+GEM's Posted November 30, 2004 Author Posted November 30, 2004 Let's Make it an Event cache: Does Saturday December, 18th work for anyone? If we're lucky we may have snow and ice on the ground to help with the mud. We could meet at Circuit Rider Cache to car pool at 8:30 am. What's a good name for this event? Quote
+evergreenhiker! Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 Sounds good! I'll still be in town. Going to Cut bank for a few days on the 23rd. Quote

+GEM's Posted November 30, 2004 Author Posted November 30, 2004 Sorry Church on Sunday...I couldn't get started until 1:00 on Sunday and then we'd be flirting with darkness...however we could get started earlier then 8:30 to make sure those interested in heading to Portland for that event could make it by 6:00. Moun10Bike Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 Carpooling makes sense to me. What would be the most convenient location for people? The lot on the north side of I-90 near Eastgate is a pretty good spot for me. Quote

You and I met there for hte haunted cache some time back. I want ot go back and get that one by the way when it's enabled. Quote
Moun10Bike Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 I guess the official name is the Eastgate Park and Ride. Here is a link to the address and a map. It looks like the coordinates are N 47° 34.806', W 122° 09.147'. Is that a good meeting spot, or does the one on 8th work better for you? Quote
+evergreenhiker! Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 We can meet at the Eastgate one. Quote
