+blindleader Posted April 29, 2004 Posted April 29, 2004 (edited) the database any time soon: Found at the Seattle Aquarium a few yards from Aqua-cache Edit: I meant peculiar Edited April 29, 2004 by blindleader Quote
mloser Posted April 30, 2004 Posted April 30, 2004 That is a great find! And to think I ALMOST went to the aquarium when I was in Seattle in March. That is a great mark, and it obviously took someone time to do it. It is sort of an inside joke too, because only surveyors and their ilk would even get it! Quote
+GEO*Trailblazer 1 Posted April 30, 2004 Posted April 30, 2004 Really thought provoking. Your Relative Altitude(attitude) is Optional at this Longitude and Latitude, because you are here now. Quote
+blindleader Posted April 30, 2004 Author Posted April 30, 2004 only surveyors and their ilk would even get it! You got that right. And only we would even find this stuff. More than twenty years after my last surveying job, I still point out to my friends things they are oblivious to, even when they walk on them. Monuments, witness stakes, bench marks, triangulation points, property corners, brush lines, etc, etc. Maybe that's why they think I'm odd. Quote
+happycycler Posted April 30, 2004 Posted April 30, 2004 Sounds completely normal to me blindleader! And I am not a surveyer -- just a benchmark hunter. Quote
+Kewaneh & Shark Posted May 1, 2004 Posted May 1, 2004 That has got to be one of the funniest marks I've ever seen. I'm sure that many surveyors have thought of similar markings for points they were setting. I have. What makes it so funny is the absolute truthfulness of it. ...and the fact that it can be used with any datum. - Kewaneh Quote
