+camp chaos clan
Thank you to everyone who took time to offer help and suggestions! I finally got GSAK and cachemate to work. I do have 2 questions: 1. when I download my next PQ, will it write over my existing one in the PDA? 2. How do I note where the cache is on the title page without having to manuaklly write it on each one? Thanks, ccc Quote Link to comment
+Geofool
Not sure what you're asking in your 2nd question. Your P.Q. file won't be over written if the file names is different. Quote Link to comment
blocko1000
I use a palm zire and cachemate. Before I download a new PQ, I always delete the records in the cachemate program on my palm. I have noticed that the cachemate program gets bigger if I dont delete the records. I download the same PQ a couple times a week in order to get all the new caches just listed. I havent noticed any duplicate caches in the records but I think I saw a posting somewhere about deleting the duplicates in the cachemate program. Quote Link to comment
+NightPilot
Cachemate should merge the records and not get bigger as long as the caches are the same. I don't understand the second question, either. Quote Link to comment
+Maeglin
The memory usage will increase between the time that you move the new import file to the PDA and the next time that you run CacheMate to actually merge the records. After that point, the size is roughly the same as before, depending on any changes to the existing cache records, or any new ones that were added. You can get around that momentary jump in size by either deleting all of the records from CacheMate first, as blocko suggested, or use the memory card support (if you can). That 2nd question has me stumped as well... Quote Link to comment
