+beatnik
Well I didn't see a thread for the new 04 CITO so I made my own. Thought everyone would like to see our 2nd annual haul here in Tulsa. We got a little carried away and "darn if someone didn't throw out a perfectly good geocacher!" Quick grab that GPS from around his neck! Edited April 17, 2004 by beatnik Quote Link to comment
+beatnik
And another photo of the TAG cleanup. There's more on our Tulsa Area Geocachers CITO Webpage of course Quote Link to comment

+X Snoopy
It was a beautiful day for meeting with other cachers, eating some great food, and playing some games. Oh yea, we even picked up the park a bit. Hampton Roads CITO Gallery Enjoy Edited April 18, 2004 by X Snoopy Quote Link to comment

+CYBret
We had been asked by the Champaign park district to clean up what looked like an already pretty clean park. However, once we got into it we were amazed at how much trash there was to pick up. Once you get those bags all together you really get a sense of accomplishment. Bret Quote Link to comment
+kbraband
Here's the group at our Wisconsin Geoaching Association CITO event, held in downtown Milwaukee along the lakefront trails. We began with a breakfast then migrated over to the trails for 3 hours of cleanup work. One of our members (Trudy & The Beast) hid 7 temporary geocaches early in the morning and brought the coords to breakfast, so we had some fun as we worked. +TeamK-9
One of several teams out in the park yesterday, my team was assigned to clean out a small lake. In the picture that's my dad, (part of TeamK-9) and IV Warrior Quote Link to comment
+bons
Looks a lot more like looking for a well hidden micro then picking up trash... Ours had the usual amounts of trash... The usual necessary incentives to quit goofing off... And the predictable results... It just seems it not a CI/TO without the police... Quote Link to comment
+OurWoods
Cache In, Trash Out 2004 Honolulu Think I would have rather attended your event! Temps dropped to 40's and below and then it rained, here in Rochester, NY! All that aside we had a great turn out, and a fun time! Even cleaned up a bunch of trash from the shores of Lake Ontario. The most interesting thing someone found was a purse with credit cards, ID, but no money. It had been stashed under a rock (it was turned over to the police later) and a few other things. +TeamK-9
Maybe this isn't the place to post this, but I thought I would. While my dad, IV Warrior and I were working, (we were the only cachers in this particular area of the park) a police car kept driving by, and then sort of parking by the DPW garage we were by. I guess he was trying to catch speeders, and also keep an eye on us, but I think the fact that our boat said "City of Pittsburgh" sort of calmed his fears. So anyway, he pulled up while IV Warrior was working on the bank close to the road and my dad and I were working on the other. And I guess the conversation between the cop and IV Warrior went something like this: Cop: Do you mind my asking what you're doing here? IV Warrior: We're volunteers cleaning up the park with a club we belong to. Cop: OH IV Warrior: Yah Cop: Well you're doing a mighty fine job... But it looks like Bons CITO event was more fun, they got orange vests, AND guns... Edited April 19, 2004 by TeamK-9 Quote Link to comment
+trippy1976
Day started out rainy and with thunderstorms in Michigan. By 9:30 it was starting to look up and by 11:00 when we started the CITO the weather was fantastic! Highs in the 80's and sunny for our day of cleanup. An unusual treat for mid-April but welcome weather. Teams arrived, split up, trashed out and then congregated back for a social and cookout. It was a great time. Here's our two best before and after shots. umc wasn't quick enough to get to the dumpster before people started filling it, but it was empty at the start of the day. +Lil Devil
Our event started with breakfast at a local dining establishment. From there we split up into two groups. One group headed to Willow Springs Reservoir in Folsom and my group headed to the bike trail near the new water intake on the Sacramento River. About 2 1/4 hours, and a half a mile of shoreline later, here's the result of our effort: More logs and pictures Quote Link to comment

+arkansas stickerdude
We had a great time on the 17th on our day out cleaning up. The youngest stickerdude even got a picture with a Missouri State Police Officer. The cop was waundering what we were doing until he saw the little man with the trash bag. The Stickerdude Family would like to thank GEO*Trailblazer for the great time. We can not wait for the next CITO event. Edited April 20, 2004 by arkansas stickerdude Quote Link to comment

Half-Baked Magpies
We had a super bunch of cachers come together to help clean up a site in conjunction with the Pennsylvania DCNR. Approximately 150 bags of trash and a large amount of scrap iron were collected on a weather perfect day! The picnic, which followed, was also a blast! A BIG THANKS to all those that helped to make this event the huge success that it was! Edited April 20, 2004 by Half-Baked Magpies Quote Link to comment
+carleenp
The most interesting thing someone found was a purse with credit cards, ID, but no money. It had been stashed under a rock (it was turned over to the police later) and a few other things. That was the same reason we summoned the police to our CITO. Someone found a wallet w/ ID and cards in the ditch. The gun in Bon's pics was also found in the ditch (it is a pellet gun). Quote Link to comment
+MissJenn
As more and more people report their CITO events, it has been VERY handy to use the Visit the Gallery link that was a relatively recent addition to the cache pages. Thanks for adding that, Jeremy. You know what I mean, don't you? This link, right above the top-most log on each cache page: e.g. Logged Visits (36 total. Visit the Gallery)Warning. Spoilers may be included in the descriptions or links. Cache find counts are based on the last time the page generated. Try it - you'll like it! Quote Link to comment

+CurmudgeonlyGal
We had a pretty great time at our WSGA - Ivy Out, Cache In - Tree Rescue! In counting up the number of folks there to help out, I think we had 25 pop in for just the Ivy Pull. At noon we finished with the ivy and had GPSr/Geocaching demonstrations for anyone who wanted to show up and learn how to use their GPS, or just a GPS. We had plenty to go around. I think there were at least 10 to 15 people who stopped by just for that segment of the afternoon. Two very simple practice cache were placed before the event, and the 'Event' cache was placed on Easter, but hadn't, as of the event, gone live. The n00b's did the two practice cache and then everyone toodled off to find the Real Box in the Big Bad Forest. Hopefully those that came had a good time, learned a few things, and were suckered over to the dark side based on our enthusiasm. After all was said and done, most of the people wanting to learn about their GPSr's left while the rest of us had a picnic buffet while sitting in the sun. Mmmmmm, sun. (Don't kid yourselves, it wasn't warm!) I think (HOPE!) everyone had a great time. Here's a few of the participants knee deep in ivy (well, o.k., maybe only ankle deep): And the youngest participant in something close to a position of power: That said, there are, of course, more photos in the gallery for the event. -=- michelle Quote Link to comment

We camped out the night before, did a group night caching hunt, and even used a laptop and cell phone to make some last minute changes to the coordinates for a new cache, which Keystone Approver released early the next morning. +bitbrain
Shelby Farms was pleasently clean when we arrived on Saturday morning. Our group of about 30 folks did a bang-up job on the areas we targeted, though. Jamie and I gave out lots of directions to Walk-America participants who were lost in the park. We were even thanked by a jogger. He was out of hearing range when Jamie said, "Well, somebody's got to spread this stuff around." Our gallery for the day can be found here. We weren't able to get a whole group photo because of people arriving and leaving at times that made the group photo unworkable. I sure hope Katester's arm is OK. Here's a shot of the early arrivals waiting for the ranger to bring our HUGE trash bags. Quote Link to comment
