Geocaching Amateurs In Dallas/ft. Worth

Recommended Posts

I just discovered geocaching a few days ago and have already found 6 caches and 2 benchmarks. Also a ham. Used to be very active in packet and Skywarn.

KC5TUG here, also in Hurst, Tx. Small world.

Very small world indeed. What repeater do you normally talk on? I ususally monitor the 146.94 in Ft. Worth or the 147.14 in Arlington. I just set my radio back up after a 2 year absence so eveyone I used to talk to has "disappeared" it seems. I'm in the process of studying for my General. May take elements 1 and 2 this thursday at the Hurst ARC test session. I hate CW but I want to talk on HF.

Welcome to the sport/hobby/passtime/adventure/etc... I've only been Geocaching for about 2 months and love it. Gives my fat self a reason to get out and get some exercise :(.

I listen on 146.94 and the Hurst ARC freq 147.10 sometimes. Very seldom talk much. I sent you an email - check your box!

Been into it for less than a month so far.  I'm in Allen (north of Dallas).

Welcome Clintb. Are you a ham also?

I may act like a ham on occasion, but don't dabble with the communications. :D

I'm using Geocaching to get the family outdoors, but with a goal in mind. It's working pretty good so far.
