+BuckyD
I've recently placed a mini-micro (altoids breath strips container) that barely fits the log and geocache info sheet. I marked it "log-only" in my cache description. A very nice cacher recently put a coupon for a free smoothie in it, which -- in my opinion -- makes it more difficult to get the log out of the container/close it properly to avoid water. It is within my rights to remove it? If so, what would be the proper thing to do -- spend it, contact the cacher that put it in to give it back, stick it in another cache, etc...? Any opinions on the matter would be appreciated. Quote Link to comment
+Stunod
Feel free to take it out, and if you feel guilty about it go ahead and put it into another cache. Quote Link to comment
+JeepCachr
I'd say spend it if its something you like, if not place it in a cache. Trying to return it would be a waste of time. If you feel conflicted it will probably dissapear soon anyway. I don't think its a question of etiquette, not only is it within your rights its your responsibility in maintaining this cache. Do people really like to hunt for micro's this small? *WARNING PERSONAL OPINION ALERT* I don't think anything that is so small that a muggle would throw it away without knowing its a cache should be allowed. Its not even big enough to hold a description of geocaching or even a decent log. Quote Link to comment
+BuckyD
When you're in a big big city (ok, San Francisco is no New York, but still quite metropolitan), many of the caches used are this small, in my limited experience. IMHO its much more fun than a virtual, which in many cases is the only other alternative to show someone a neat area/view/whatever. You'd be surprised at how some hides are done here to avoid muggle detection -- and the container does hold a description of geocaching and the micro version of the log. Edit: address the point above about not having room for info and log sheets. Edited April 6, 2004 by BuckyDef Quote Link to comment

It has a geocaching label, log sheet and a full geocaching description (printed very small). Edited April 6, 2004 by cache_us_if_you_can Quote Link to comment
AC Student
If you feel conflicted it will probably dissapear soon anyway. I agree with JeepCachr in that the nice coupon will disappear quickly on its own. I wouldn't worry about it. The next cacher or the next one after that will likely resolve this issue for you. So, if you do decide to remove it yourself, better hurry. Quote Link to comment
+Wrong Way Ron
I noticed Geojeeper states it's you responsibility to maintain your cache. I notice Geojeeper sings another tune when it comes to garbage in caches. It seems form other post if it garbage then it's no big deal. I learn more everyday it seems to me if you want some thing take it for your self why not its your cache. If its in a nice park and your cache fills up with garbage thats OK don't worry about it someone else will take care of it. I think Geojeeper is the problem keep it up the more you post the more we know Quote Link to comment

+fly46
Personally, I say leave it. Make a log for the next person who does your cache to just take it and to not trade for it. Quote Link to comment
+Imajika
If it's an expired coupon, then get rid of it. If it's still good and can fit in the cache comfortably, then I would leave it in there. If it won't fit in there comfortably, you could always take it and place it in another cache. Quote Link to comment

I'll look for any type of cache but sometimes these mini micros are more fun to hunt than a poorly hidden ammo box in the woods. Quote Link to comment

To each his own... I'd rather walk 5 miles into the woods to find an ammo box out in the open then spend an hour looking for a tiny cache in a parking lot. Thats what makes this game so great, is there is a little something for every one. Quote Link to comment
+RJFerret
Ignoring the micro opinions (double entendre intended), trying to return the coupon would be both difficult and might be perceived as rude--rejecting a gift! If the expiration is far enough out to be included as a FTF prize on your next cache, do that, or use it as a trade item, or spend it. Either way, appreciate that they traded up and please continue the trend. It's all good, Randy Quote Link to comment
+Logscaler and Red
A local cacher here had a old style micro that you had to find the container and then count the items in it to claim a find. Guess what? Someone who found the cache placed their calling card into the cache also. It kinda threw the count off and caused a couple try again's until I told the cache owner what was going on and he removed the card. As for the coupon, take it and place it into another cache, drop a note to the person who placed the coupon in yours why you moved it. If they have a problem with moving it, go back and get it and SPEND it. That will teach them. Until they go steal your cache to tick you off. Now it gets to be a war. You go steal one of theirs, they return the favor. You set up an ambush and get their names and TP their house. They ambush you and get your info, go to your house, rip your mailbox out of the ground and lay it behind your car so you can run over it as you go to work. You find out where they work and call their boss, tell him your the other guy, cuss him out and quit. Your sitting their laughing about it the next day when you see the local repo guy hauling your car down the road. And then it get's nasty. In other words, no big deal. logscaler.
