Gpsbabel Question

I've got a little problem and I can't figure the answer to it. I use the Garmin 60CS so I'm forced to use MapSource for uploads and downloads. So I spend a day geocaching, come home, download my waypoints, routes and track log into MapSource, but since I don't like MapSource (no aerial map) I want to convert this file into GPX and use it with QuakeMap.

 

So I save the file, use GPSBabel and convert the MPS file to a GPX file. But when I open the new GPX file there isn't any routes or track logs, only the waypoints. Can someone help me out?

The mixed mode (track, route, waypoint) Mapsource stuff has been kind of a pain and only recently (1.2.2) has it been thought to work right.

 

If you're on 1.2.2, send the complete command line you issued and test file to the gpsbabel-misc mailing list for help.

Please send me the GPX file (support@quakemap.com) and make sure you have the latest build of QuakeMap (Help-->About should show 20040402). You may have a route without <number> tag in your GPX file, an that didn't read in well in previous versions.

Since the GUI is documented to not work with tracks and routes, can you confirm if the command line invocation (remember to include "-r") works as expected?

I got a hint from Robert Lipe; here is likely reason: the GUI front-end doesn't put "-r" switch to GPSBabel's command line (see http://gpsbabel.sourceforge.net/os/Windows_FE.html )

Looks like you have to bring up a DOS prompt and make your own command line now...
