My first weekend!

All,

I just wanted to post and say thanks for all I've learned reading everyone else's questions. My partner and I went geocaching this weekend, and we logged two finds yesterday, and just for fun we went out and logged a pair of benchmarks today. (We looked for a third one, but it was behind a "no trespassing" sign, so we gave up on it.) I think we're definitely addicted now -- and we went out and bought a better GPS today too. (We started with a Magellan GPS 300 from eBay, and we went out and bought a SporTrak Pro today.)

Welcome! I'd suggest giving that 'No Trespassing' cache another look. The closest approach is not always the way you should go. There might be a publically accessible area somewhere beyond the sign. Or it's possible that conditions have changed, in which case the cacher owner needs to be informed.
