+sTeamTraen Posted April 2, 2004 Posted April 2, 2004 Is there a way to get Mapquest to tell you the Lat/Long of a location which you've panned to ? When I want to look up the coords of a place, I end up doing it by successive approximation (typing in ever close Lat/Long numbers), which is very boring. If there are any other mapping services that can do this (and which cover Europe), I'd be interested as well... Quote
+2qwerqE Posted April 2, 2004 Posted April 2, 2004 Gives you address and directions from Lat/Log: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/latlong.adp Is that what you wanted? Quote
+Markwell Posted April 2, 2004 Posted April 2, 2004 Actually - you're looking for coordinates from an address, right? In the US: www.geocode.com. You can get a pretty close approximation from there. Then I go to lostoutdoors.com, and pull up the satellite of the coords they gave me. You can actually click on the image and have it spit back out the coordinates for where you clicked. Outside the US, I've used Maporama.com, but have no way to verify its results like you can in the US. I suppose you could plug the coordinates into Multimap.com and see if they agree... Quote
+sTeamTraen Posted April 4, 2004 Author Posted April 4, 2004 Thanks, Maporama looks like exactly what I need. Quote
