+Team Flying Dachshund
What is the best cache container you have evar seen? Quote Link to comment
+wray_clan
There's one that's currently archived, but was placed in a book in the local college's library. That was pretty nifty. Quote Link to comment
+Bloencustoms
My vote goes to the ammo box. They aren't prone to cracking in the cold, and hold up to moisture pretty well. Still, some might argue that the very best containers are hard to see to begin with. Quote Link to comment
+hikemeister
We have done all kinds with over 50 caches, from ultra micros to huge ammo cans. I like the smaller sized ammo cans for regular caches, and for micros, the Altoids gum containers (painted camo of course). Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
An ammo box. Inexpensive, waterproof and highly animal resistant. Quote Link to comment
+programmer64
My ex mother in law works in a hospital and gets me the boxes that pacemakers are shipped in. They are hard watertight plastic containers,so far they seem to work for me. They are a little smaller than an ammo box but much larger than a micro. Quote Link to comment

+Snoogans
Read the logs on this cache. Seeing is believing. Peeve said it best. He would drive the 170 miles from Austin to see another like this. Sn gans Edited March 31, 2004 by Snoogans Quote Link to comment

Sn gans This one is a close second. Cachers in Houston are lucky to have such originality an inventiveness to choose from. I could list many more, but most would be from the hides of these two..... +Amazon Annie
I have to say the most creative one I've seen yet is this one: "Mo-Jo" Cincinnati Style If you read the logs, they have gatherings to watch people search. I'm going to see if I can find someone to help me duplicate this in my area. Fabulous cammo job.... Genius! Quote Link to comment

+JoGPS
The best one I have ever seen was a small white 4X4 container in the woods, it was a four wheel drive Nissan SUV there were rocks of top on the roof and the hint was Under Some Rocks, it was Toooooooooo Cool . ………….. JOE Quote Link to comment
+rusty_tlc
Best is a subjective word. The best cache container is without a doubt the ammo can. Depending on the hide location there may be other, less costly, options which may serve as well. Quote Link to comment
GeoVet
It's the AMMO CAN. Do your homework. End of discussion. Quote Link to comment

+Kealia
My ex mother in law works in a hospital and gets me the boxes that pacemakers are shipped in. C'mon, nobody is gonna bite on this and comment on trading up?? Nobody? On topic: I too am partial to the ammo box for it's durability. But, the fake rock that I've used generated some great logs... Well spotted - yes, it is - Photoshopped to add the caching stickers. Add one to your find totals for knowing that. Quote Link to comment

Snoogans is right about the creativity of the “Houston Hiders”, but I cannot believe he did not mention the sprinkler heads that have been modified into micros then placed, or the road reflectors, or the dog poo. Yes we live in the land of creativity. I cannot mention the name of the person responsible for these because it might spoil the hunt if people know exactly what kind of container to look for.
