Wander Lost
We have a couch we willing to part with for free. But if you are interested you've got to speak up now. It is a off-white sectional with a hide a bed. We can even deliver it locally. It goes to the dump tomorrow if no one contacts us. Link to comment
Og's outfit
How big? My kids are always looking for new furnature to spruce up their digs. (their play/game room) Do you have a pic? Link to comment
Wander Lost
Here is a link to a picture of the couch. As you can tell it is on the deck waiting to go. It's comfy but it has stains on it and some cigarette burns from the previous owner. It would actaully be great for Teens. Link to comment
Og's outfit
I'm sorry it looks to be too big. The kid's rec room is long and narrow. 12' X 30' Maybe someone else can use it? Link to comment
Wander Lost
Okay. Any other takers. Link to comment
Og's outfit
Okay, now I feel down-right silly..........the kids want to know how wide it is at it's shortest point? Can you measure it? They've got to be able to walk through to the T.V. The current couch is 7'3". Will it work? Og Link to comment
Wander Lost
It would be the same size 7'3" at the shortest, it is an L-Shaped sectional. The other side would be longer. I wish I had a better picture of it, but if you want to swing by in the morning to take a look you are welcome. You can even get a head start on the Cache a Thon by grabbing Grave Robber. +shunra
Why don't you attach a dog tag and put it next to a cache? Wait... Aren't you hosting an event one of these days? Someone might want to pick up this unique TB and dump it at someone else's cache. [] Link to comment
Sparrowhawk
Go to seattle craigslist and look for the "free" department... that's a place to post something you want to give away. Just post it on craigslist, put the couch outside your house with clear plastic on it to protect it from the rain, and put a sign on it "free hide-a-bed sofa". Make sure you say something like "first person to arrive gets it!" kinda notice on craigslist. Not worth waiting around for someone who may flake out on any appointment they make with you. You can also call the Community Warehouse which donates furniture to needy people and find out what they know about in your area who is like them. Also google for "freecycle" and "seattle" and find even more cool giveaway resources. Here's someone local to call and get advice on who would want a free sofa: Salvation Army 1209 Central Ave S Kent, WA 98032-7432 (253) 850-8107 Giving it to a non-profit gives you a nice tax deduction, and does not cost you $$$ in dumping fees. +NomadRaven
Or better yet, Craigslist has a seattle site, too: seattle.craigslist.org. Might be able to find somebody who'll take it there, especially considering quite a bit of the demographic is young twenty-something and college student types. Link to comment
Wander Lost
Thanks for the info. I posted it to the seattle craig's list. I've recently been frustrated trying to give furniture away to Goodwill or TSA. They will not take anything these days if it isn't in perfect condition. Now they inspect all furniture before they accept it and if anything is broken or damaged they won't take it. I thought the whole idea was for them to be able to train people in how to repair broken stuff. Link to comment
Wander Lost
The couch is gone. Closing this topic. Thanks for all the suggestions! And the most thanks to ANM103FH for making the ultimate trade. Link to comment
