+alchemist2000
I routinely download the tracks from my GPS V to Mapsource and Expertgps after each day of geocaching and save the resulting maps. Is there a convenient way to make a jpg image of either of these? I want to add linkable hotspots and post on my webpage. I can make a pdf version of the Mapsource map, but I don't currently have a pdf to jpg converter. If I go that way, what converter should I get? Quote Link to comment
Neo_Geo
Personally I do an Alt + Print Screen to get the screen shot onto the clipboard, and then paste into MS Photo Editor (part of the MS Office suite). If you have Windows 2000 or XP, then you can paste it into the Paint program and then save as a jpg. Quote Link to comment
+alchemist2000
Great. I'll give that a try. I guess I was trying to make it more difficult than it needed to be. Quote Link to comment
Moun10Bike
Since you have ExpertGPS, you might want to try its built-in image export. Just create the map that you want, then select Map/Export Image. You'll get a dialog that allows you to adjust image size and centerpoint (and other options) and save in .bmp, .jpg or .tif formats. +alchemist2000
Thanks, Moun10Bike. I had only looked at the Export and Save As options under File, not Map. That should work well for what I need. Quote Link to comment
+NightPilot
The easiest way I've found is to open USAPhotomaps, get the map for the area you want, and then save it directly as a jpg from USAPhotomaps. You can save it at several easily-set resolutions, and either photo or topo format, whatever area coverage you want. Quote Link to comment
