CacheNCarryMA
I'm currently about one-third of the way through Angels and Demons, the prequel to The DaVinci Code. Anyone read it yet? (I haven't read DaVInci Code - too cheap to spring for the $27 hardcover, too impatient to wait list at the public library) It's got a good description of an Illuminati multi-cache type puzzle created in Rome by Galileo himself. +Mastifflover
Yep read it. Very cool book. My copy of the Divinci Code is on its way. Quote Link to comment
+yumitori
I enjoyed Angels & Demons. Harder to turn into a geocache though. His books aren't great literature, but they are nice escapist stuff. I'm going to read his others when I get a chance. Quote Link to comment
+Gorak
Just finished reading DaVinci's Code last night. Although it wasn't the normal genre that I prefer to read, I quite enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading Angels & Demons. You're right about the literary quality of his writing but it was obviously well researched and, considering the preface, quite educational for a heathen such as myself. ____________ Gorak Quote Link to comment
+xenophon10k
I read it, but Dan Brown's understanding of physics and technology are generally cringe-worthy. Other than that his later books are interesting despite their flaws. Quote Link to comment

+bigredmed
DaVinci code was my favorite of the two. Both are better than Deception Point. Quote Link to comment
bug and snake
I thought A&D was way better than the DC..... Have to agree about the chopper incident though - but still a good read. If I was going to be hyper critical I would have to say that in a lot of ways they are too similar. But I won't! Edited March 10, 2004 by bug&snake Quote Link to comment
CacheNCarryMA
I read it, but Dan Brown's understanding of physics and technology are generally cringe-worthy. ... no worse than Michael Crighton's treatment of physics and biology (see Timeline, Congo, and Juraissic Park. Gotta stretch it a little to make it interesting. Quote Link to comment
+sbell111
I am about 2/3 done with it. I finished Code a while back. They are both good reads. I agree that its obvious that history is his forte, not tech. I thought it was funny when they checked her cel phone by hitting a button and waiting for a dial tone. Quote Link to comment
+woof n lulu
I really liked A&D and can't wait for DaVinci Code to come out in paperback. Its a good read as long as you don't take it as gospel truth....so to speak Quote Link to comment

I also thought the main characters' final actions didn't fit the way they were developed at all. So I'm sorry to say I didn't enjoy it, but I'm glad others have. It does contain an interesting multi. +Scoobie10
I've read both......well, okay.......listened to both. I'm a books on tape kinda guy given my 40 mile commute every day. I like to think that I'm well read but I guess I'm.......well heard. I got the CD's for DC for Christmas...18 hours of listening!! Yeesh! I enjoyed both although DC a little more than A&D. Doesn't he have another book? Digital something or another? Quote Link to comment
+bons
It's called Digital Fortress. If his complete lack of understanding of physics and technology bothers you, avoid it like a plague. If you can ignore that and completely suspend your disbelief, it's a fun romp. Quote Link to comment
