Rangers of Ithilien
Jim, do you know if the farmer was the owner or just the groundsman? Knowing a bit about the gallops around where I work, there does seem to be a definate "chain of command" when it comes to these things. If the farmer is the owner then as you found out there is no chance. If he isnt the owner then perhaps it might be worth approaching them about placing a cache there? I would say that there is a high chance that he is just the groundsman. I'm about to go through this procedure for a multi I am hoping to set up. I do have one piece of luck, there is a public right of way past the place I hope to hide the cache. At least they are used to dog walkers and ramblers around there! Hope this helps. +The Time Lord
It would appear that he is the son of the owners who are an old couple who live on another farm. He was so adamant that I should not go on his land that I fear its a lost cause - maybe an approach from another face would be worth a try - any local landowner geocaching volunteers???????????????????
