+M_an_M
Here's the direct link: http://www.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=441 And here's what they did: Changes made from version 3.00 to 3.01 Beta: Added Marine Colors option to the map setup for displaying BlueCharts similar to MapSource. Moved the Day/Night display mode from the map setup to the display setup. It still modifies map colors, but separate color-scheme selections have been added for day and night modes. Corrections to Polish translations. Lock On Road option is no longer turned on when starting a Follow Road route. This feature is only turned on or off manually. Approaching cross-street information is available with Lock On Road turned off. Improved guidance text for turns onto on/off ramps or generic roads. Quote Link to comment
03HD
You may want to sign up for the e-mail notification when Garmin has a software update. I just clicked on the web address included in the e-mail and it took me to it. Easier than checking Garmin's site for updates. Quote Link to comment
Neo_Geo
Not that it's a big deal, but after having upgraded to 3.01, when I turn my unit off, a horizontal black line lingers briefly in the display about 1/3 of the way down the screen. Anyone else notice this, or is it just mine? Edited March 10, 2004 by Neo_Geo Quote Link to comment
+Wienerdog
Not to worry. I noticed that with V3.0. Random instructions as the CPU looses it's mind I should think. HAL had the same thing happen when Dave pulled the plug. Quote Link to comment
gessner17
I get the same lines on my screen too, I have ver 3.01. Quote Link to comment
PitB
Nice to hear I'm not alone with that black line after switching off Quote Link to comment
+pecka
I don't have my 60C yet (should get it on friday...agrr), but i own a GAMEBOY ADVANCE and when I switch it off I get gazillion of lines all over the display. Are you sure this is not a HW glitch rather than SW bug? Quote Link to comment
Neo_Geo
I only noticed it AFTER upgrading the firmware (which would indicate software). Quote Link to comment
NESeakayaker
I have version 3.0 loaded and I do not have the Beta version loaded. I have seen this line show up during shutdown every once in a while. No big deal. Quote Link to comment

PitB
Anyone found a bug in the 3.01? When I use autorouting and the unit should recalculate (e.g. I miss some turn), then the unit resets itself. It does not do regulary, and I didn't find any consequences. I use CitySelect Europe v6 maps. Edited March 10, 2004 by PitB Quote Link to comment
gessner17
I did notice it seems to do it when the memory is full (maps), as opposed to say half full, mine seems to do it worse when it is full, perhaps it is writing some type of temporary file and it works slower when more maps are loaded???? cactusbob
PitB: Yeah mine resets after recalculating a route too, it's even does it at the same point on my journey to work. I've mailed Garmin, no response yet. Going back to 3.00 fixes it though CB Quote Link to comment

cactusbob
To revert back, clean the updates out of the appropriate directory and then extract the 3.00 firmware. Run the Update program. You will lose all your waypoints tracks and stuff, my maps stayed. Make sure your batteries are fresh too. Geraint Quote Link to comment
PitB
I've recieved an email from Garmin today, hope no "secret" will be harmed After powering your unit on, navigate to the Trip Computer page, press the rocker key UP, RIGHT, DOWN, LEFT. This should pop up the diagnostic page. There should be a list of error messages and if you highlight and press ENTR on certain types such as "RTL Trap" then you will get more information regarding that particular error. If you could provide us with all of this information from your unit, it could be useful in helping us to figure out your particular problem. Now I have to load the 3.01 again and try to simulate the error. Quote Link to comment
Swagger
There's nothing in the list of improvements that make me want to put beta firmware on my GPSr. I think I'll wait for the release version. I don't mind playing with beta MapSource updates, but I ain't gonna mess with no beta software in my handheld... Quote Link to comment
+Nick42
Has anyone tried to average a waypoint with the new 3.01b firmware? Mine does not seem to count the measurements anymore. Quote Link to comment
+pecka
did you tried to erase the memory? FIRST BACKUP!! then power the unit on with menu button pressed Quote Link to comment
