+Jamie Z
I'm not able to log into ClayJar's Geocaching Chat Room tonight using the Java link. Am I alone? Is his site down? Jamie Link to comment
Keystone
I think you're alone, Jamie... no problems here, the regular crowd is chatting away, including some folks accessing through java. Wish you were here! Link to comment
+Prime Suspect
He's site appears to be down right now. You can still use an IRC client to chat. Link to comment

+ClayJar
Strange. carleenp said she was having problems, so I checked, and it worked fine for me (other than my cable connection being a piece of SCO). I just checked again and it's working. Guess I missed something. Link to comment

You *do* have Java installed and working, eh? Way back when Microsoft didn't install a JVM with XP, people had issues because of that. If you have a JVM installed and you don't have anything blocking Java applets, you should be getting it... unless you're on a Mac, in which case I have no idea if it'll work... Link to comment
+Lone Duck
If browser security levels or firewall security levels are set high, then that can block a Java app. Best way to do IRC is to use a chat client, such as mIRC and also take the time to learn how IRC works , you'll enjoy it more and won't be so frustrated. +carleenp
I couldn't log on last night through java on either my mac or laptop. So I used the laptop and an irc client for the first time. As anyone who was in there now knows, I can't type on a laptop, kept hitting the caps lock key and many of my lines looked something like this: "I caNM'T TYpee on A LAPtop (darn caps lock)!" Anyway, I just checked and the java seems to be working OK now. Link to comment

+carleenp
Get yourself X-Chat Aqua if you're running OSX. I couldn't get any irc clients to work in OSX. I have ident issues when I try to sign on. The program that is supposed to fix that did not seem to work either. Java is good enough for me though. Link to comment
