+runhills Posted March 2, 2004 Posted March 2, 2004 (edited) Some of us like vertical relief in our lives, some prefer it remain horizontal! Great coins, Pepper! I hope to be one of the lucky finders! Edited March 2, 2004 by runhills Quote
+TotemLake Posted March 2, 2004 Posted March 2, 2004 Great looking coins Pepper! The Horizontal could also be taken as she likes flat hikes. At least that was the way I took it. Quote

TL you hit the nail on the head. Actually it's an old joke between my husband and I, but when I started caching/hiking I figured out real quick what a switch back was and decided they were not my favorite thing. But if there's a cache up there somewhere I will not hesitate to go get it. Pepper Quote

+Bull Moose Posted March 2, 2004 Posted March 2, 2004 Between your coin and Moun10bike's coin, I really want to try and do one. I'm not sure the wife would let me spend the $800 though. Well, I am sure she wouldn't. Maybe in a year or two. Quote
Moun10Bike Posted March 2, 2004 Posted March 2, 2004 Bull Moose...this is your conscience speaking...get a geocoin...it will be okay with your wife...go on! You could order up your own coins for a lot less than $800. The minimum order is 100, and if you don't do sequential numbering or color, you can get them for around $2.50 apiece + $100 one-time fee for creation of the dies for the two faces. Quote
+cooperdog Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 Nice job on the coins Pepper. Can't wait to track one down in the future. You guys are great. NOthing like finding a pretty hunk of metal..... .....Gluck to y'all Quote

Hmm... That's less than our tax return... Quote
Moun10Bike Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 Where do you get the coins from? Can you put anything you would like on them? Please I would like more information. There are a bunch of places on the web where you can order coins. Do a search for "challenge coins" and you'll find many from which to choose. Pepper and I both went with D & R Military Specialties. You can supply the design of the faces yourself, as Pepper and I did, or have their artists come up with a design for you. You can find a little more information on my geocoin page. Quote
