Vlad
One of my friends lost the basemap from his Meridian Gold. I contacted Magellan and they said that the only way to fix this was to send the unit to an authorized repair centre. I was wondering if one of you might be able to suggest an alternative fix? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Quote Link to comment
+Cherokeecacher
Due to legal reasons, you will have a hard time finding a base map backup file on the net. I am sure they are out there, but hard to find. Have you tried e-mailing your predicament to the Yahoo meridian user group? ? Quote Link to comment
Mossy Oak
Hey, I lost my map base in my Meg Gold, returned to Magellan next day service. Magellan had my unit back to be in less than a week. They even upgraded the software to the latest version. They also sent me a new date cable. 6 months later I noticed a blue tint on the screen (back light going bad), once again , I called for a return authorization number, Magellan returned my unit again in 5-7 days. This time Magellan sent me a new CD manual, powder cable for the lighter and a case. Other than that, I would not have any concerns ever about Magellan’s service. Quote Link to comment
Vlad
hmmm, ok thanks all for the info. thought it might be something that could be reloaded with little problem but if there's some legality issue in play here then I'm ok with telling him to just return to magellan for repair. thanks again for your assistance.
