capt caper
Someone thought the 60C would be easier to use with one hand over the 76CS. That's a good point. I know when using my 76S with one hand the screen sometimes get's covered by my hand. In case of the 60C,if you can do it with one hand would be great. Because of the buttons at the bottom the screen would always be open to view. Anyone using the 60C that has tried to use it with one hand? Quote Link to comment
Link & Zelda
I use my 60c with one hand all the time. Once you find a comfortable position that works for you, it's very easy. Takes some getting used to but in the end, I prefer it over the buttons-on-top arrangement. Just for reference, my old GPS was a Garmin Etrex Venture with the click-stick set-up. +ARTE
My fingers are "slimmish" and one handed works fine for me. I have found that selecting the correct button can be tough with a glove on, but not much (if any) more so than with my GPS III. The balance of the unit is good for one handed use too - the center of gravity seems to be somewhere south of the midpoint so it does not act top heavy in the hand. Quote Link to comment
+George501949
I'm a big guy with big hands, I also use just one hand. Edited February 16, 2004 by George501949 Quote Link to comment
capt caper
Thanks. I have big hands too. I would want to be able to use it with one hand If I need to flip a page, etc. Quote Link to comment
Lost for cache
One handed operation on the 60C is very easy to use and I do like the screen on top when holding the unit with one hand. It feels like it was made to use with one hand. John. Quote Link to comment
+Desert_Warrior
Hmmmm.... would a few of you take a photo of how you hold it for one hand use and post it here? May help others develope a technique. If nothing else, it could be amusing, sorta like trying to get a line of people to relay the same message. Quote Link to comment
+ARTE
OK, I'll bite. As for technique, notice the subtle finesse of extending the index finger along the right side & back for support. Quote Link to comment
capt caper
That's great thanks man. It looks as though the key pad buttons are spaced apart more so than on my 76S. Is that true? I've been trying to find one in a store but no luck yet. I have an CS on order. Edited February 16, 2004 by capt caper Quote Link to comment
+sk8rdi16
Ok, here are some pics of the one hand holding of the 60C. It feels great. One discomfort for me, since I have short fingers is my thumb gets slightly cramped after using it for awhile. Quote Link to comment
