Knives In Geocaches

I'm new to the forum, and geocaching in general, but I have a great idea. Rather than breaking rules some deem as pointless or stupid, why not petition the people creating these rules to get repeal them. So, instead of risk having geocaching banned in areas by leaving pocket knives in an act of rebellion, lets start contacting the people in charge about it. Maybe we can get things changed for the better.

GC.COM has a rule against them, mostly to cover thier butts. That won't change. Realistically, they have no control over what is placed in a cache, so it's up to the participants of this sport to do the right thing. A little common sense goes a long way.

I understand that it is not as simple as it sounds. I was more getting at something like: If you aren't going to do something about it, don't complain about it. I am all for following the rules in this case.

And besides, why is it so important to have knives in caches B)

Because I bought a bunch of Swiss Army knives (Victoranox, not knockoffs) to place in caches just before the rule was implemented. B)

Makes a great gift. B)

I can send you our PO Box if you'd like to donate them to the MGS, we can use them as prizes at our up-coming event. :P
