thujaplicata
I dont mean to open a can of worms here, but I too have a 60 cs on order from a vendor and had an Etrex vista. I used it for everything from kayaking to tromping through the woods(which mainly consisted of mapping trails) and a little geocaching. I guess I m trying to figure out which one will take a little more abuse than the other. I really dont care about the geocaching games....Any input would be grateful..... Quote Link to comment
+slinger91
I started out with a extex yellow.(which i still have) Debated between a Vista, and a 76S. Got the 76S, and could never get used to the size(sold it). Thats why I'll get the 60CS, and shy away from the much larger 76CS. Now a VistaC would be tempting! Quote Link to comment
flir67
I have a magellan sport-trak color pro and I love it but the new 60cs looks better. but gpsstore said they were about the same size and now I want the new cs so bad due to the new color screen. can't wait till all the bugs are worked out... will be a very hard contender to beat mark------------- Edited February 20, 2004 by flir67 Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
Hmmm... Gut feeling. The 60CS but in actual combat use...er...geocaching it's probably a wash. I've dropped my GPS V off a truck at 35mph and had it come out of it no worse for the wear. Quote Link to comment
+Rubberhead
I struggled with the same question. The only advantage of the 76CS over the 60CS is the memory (115 MB vs. 56 MB) and the 76 series floats if dropped in the water. I was about to change my order because I really wanted the tidal prediction features of the 76 series but have recently found out that the 60 series does have tidal predictions althougth the feature was undocumented by Garmin. I'm going for the 60CS since I've never filled up all 24MB in my Vista nor have I dropped it into the water. Quote Link to comment
