+Snoogans
I have met in person 17 of the people who have posted to this thread so far, including Snoogans. Can anyone beat that? I had to double check, but I could only come up with 13 without checking profiles. I even knew one before he got such a Hugh Jazz. Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
Ah, Yellow Jeep Locationless. I used Snoogans to link myself to another cacher with very few finds in about 3 steps. It's easy now...except when it's not. Oh and I aint met nobody in this thread. Edited January 25, 2006 by Renegade Knight Quote Link to comment
+mb3
I don't know about my Snoogans number but I guess it's not too high. Your Snoogans number is 1. It took about 2 seconds. I don't know of too many events anywhere in New Mexico that The Plugge's haven't attended. They were the first geocachers that I met in N.M. and a whole lot of fun to hang out with too. Cool. I was even on tv with the Plugges. Quote Link to comment

2oldfarts (the rockhounders)
Gee, we have actually shook hands with Team 360 and Moose Mob! (2 seperate events and do not listen to others - they are really nice people!) And we have a 'special rock' of Snoogans that he put into a cache outside of Laughlin that we logged...and we have met and had the privilege to have hunted benchmarks with the top benchmark hunter and one of the top cachers - 'Me & Bucky'.....soooo I do not know what # that puts us - but come on over to rural AZ and shake our hand...that will help you out a little. :) Shirley~ Quote Link to comment

+Clothahump
Well, I have only one degree of seperation with both you and DutchHorn. You, I've met in person. DutchHorn placed the first cache I ever found, and I have now adopted it. Lemme do some digging for long-distance relationships. Quote Link to comment

+Doc-Dean
Ok, I'm In... Unfortunately (??) I met Snoogans at GW3 so I guess I score a zero However, this game did make me research my connection to Mr. Bacon and to my surprise I discoved I have a Bacon score of 3 X 3!! I am friends with Joan Jett, she used to live down the street from me. Joan jett has a Bacon number of 2. Joan Jett was in Light of Day (1987) with Michael Rooker Michael Rooker was in JFK (1991) with Kevin Bacon I am friends with Howard Stern - he went to my highschool and I met him several times at a block party we had in my neighborhood and his parents lived on the block. Howard Stern has a Bacon number of 2. Howard Stern was in Private Parts (1997) with Ali Marsh Ali Marsh was in Picture Perfect (1997) with Kevin Bacon I could go on: I know Deborah Gibson - met her as a teenage before her singing career took off. Deborah Gibson (I) has a Bacon number of 2. Deborah Gibson (I) was in My X-Girlfriend's Wedding Reception (2001) with Vinny Vella Vinny Vella was in In the Cut (2003) with Kevin Bacon. This is pretty scary stuff! Quote Link to comment
Hugh Jazz
I've met Snoogs in person. My wife went to high school with the Dixie Chicks. The Dixie Chicks have not been in any movies, so no Kevin Bacon connection there. My brother used to work with some foreign dude they called "Ted Nugent" because they could not pronounce his actual name. Again, Ted Nugent's a fine American but hasn't been in any movies so no connection to Kevin Bacon there. Quote Link to comment

+StarBrand
Try out a random chance to locate your own caches or cache name. I created a utility to see if you can find your own caches or cache name in a log within 12 mouse clicks. Friends that tried it had about a 50% success rate. This link Quote Link to comment
+Snoogans
Time to bring this thread back to life! The One Degree of Separation project is about to LAUNCH! How many geocachers do you think will be able to go beyond 3 degrees of separation once these 200+ seed pods and 12,100+ seed caches hit the street??? This event has been in the works since BEFORE I started this thread. I got the idea sometime in May of '03 when I first heard of breeder caches. I have been actively collecting containers since August of 2003! Here's a preview of a few of the 200+ seed pods to be given away at the Friday night meet and greet for GW4: We counted 12,112 seed caches loaded and ready to go! Quote Link to comment

+Vinny & Sue Team
Hmmm... my brain kinda gets twisted into pretzels when I try to think of things like this, but briefly... I have never met Snoogans, but I have found several of his caches (including his infamous and psychotic Quantum Leap cache), and he also picked up from one of his caches a Psycho Urban Cache refrigerator magnet which I had left in it, and he tells me the magnet now graces his refrigerator door. And, Snoogans and I have corresponded privately several times. And, I have pictures of him and the goat. . . And, I know Lynn, CCCA; she has actually sat in our free-range poultry pen with us in our yard while curious hens milled about her feet, and chatted with us about geocaching and other topics, and we even got some great photos of her suiting up for the final radioactive stage of our Psycho Urban Cache #9. And, since she has met many cachers all over the world, that makes me 2nd degree separation from those folks whom she has met, I guess. As for Kevin Bacon, well, I had never heard of an actor named Kevin Bacon until Snoogans mentioned the whole "degrees of separation" thing in connection with Kevin Bacon on this forum. But... a good friend of mine useta work for the network which had carried Stern's TV show for years, and her job, as a paralegal in the legal department, was to manage staffers who reviewed each episode prior to airing, in order to catch and kill any "illegal" or FCC-disapproved content; any difficult callls were referred to her for final decisions. Howard useta always complain about her on the air, calling her his in-network censor. And, of course she met Howard Stern many times (I even have a video, never aired, of him "roasting" her in a hilarious show shot in his NY TV studio). And, I have met Don Imus (NY DJ), who, of course, has met Stern and many famous people many times over. And, I once met Annie Sprinkle (Annie, at the time, was the girlfriend of a good friend of mine), who has appeared on Stern's show at times... Anyway, I do not have the patience to do all the math, but I guess that gives me only a few degrees of separation from Stern and Bacon and a few other Hollywood characters. And, a good friend of mine from Los Angeles useta be a high-paid dominatrix and Tantric goddess practitioner (don't ask...) there, and she has reported that she did hourly ahem, training sessions, for many famous TV producers, writers and stars of both genders during her 17 years of professional practice. I never asked her for details. . . Oh, and I had a Swiss girlfriend about six years ago who had worked in France as an actress and singer, and in the course of her careeer, she had met many actors and producers, as well as assorted characters, from all over the world. And, a friend who lives nearby owned a beautiful Percheron horse who was often hired to appear in epic Hollywood movies where very big, imposing horses were needed. And, a consulting client whom I had nine years ago ran a personal escort service, and in her line of work, she had met many famous celebrities and politicians, particularly from the East Coast; she told me many funny tales over the years. And, a dear friend of mine (she is an artist and animal communicator) has worked as an animal communicator with many lions and bears at an exotic animal farm which rents them out (along with handlers) for use in movies and TV roles. And, an occasional coaching client of mine, who is also a friend, often works as a hooker on The Block in Baltimore, and she reports that she has had as clients many famous Hollywood actors and politicians. And, oh... no... sigh! I had better not mention the jenny donkey here. . . or the frog. . . Edited May 11, 2006 by Vinny & Sue Team Quote Link to comment

+DaveCool
We were both at GW5. One degree, however I don't think we met. I wish we had. +ThreeRushkateers
My Snoogans number can't be very high since we've cached in several of the same states. With all the really high find count people out there, there's got to be some overlap, but I didn't have the patience to find it. Someone needs to make an Oracle of Snoogans, like the Oracle of Bacon someone posted earlier. Turns out I'm only three degrees away from Kevin Bacon. In May of 1994 I met Jim Nabors when I was in the flag corps at Purdue (no I will NOT post pictures), and he was there to sing Back Home Again in Indiana. I actually had a nice long conversation with him and Florence Henderson. Pretty cool people! Jim Nabors was in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982) with Kenneth White (I) Kenneth White (I) was in Apollo 13 (1995) with Kevin Bacon And thus, I'm only three degrees from Kevin Bacon! +Jennifer&Dean
Hey Snoogans! This would be a bit easier if you put your stats on Its Not about the numbers. There is a neato thingy you can do there where you can have it compare your found caches to another cacher's found caches and get a list of caches both of you have found. We have cached with Jigsaw Jim, who found Quantum Leap in March. -J Quote Link to comment
