;) I am new and have never been on a hunt before. I will be getting a GPS soon and was wondering if there was a group event in my area to help me get started.

I am in the North Sacramento area.

If you want to meet some fellow geocachers and learn a bit about caching feel free to join us for the Oroville Pizza Party Feb 28th. It may be a bit of a drive for you... Heck, it's even a bit of a drive for us (living in north Redding), but it should be fun.

Just a guess based on your SN, but are you from Lincoln? If so, I've heard that there are some nice caches in that area. We hope to find them this spring.

I am in the North Sacramento area.

The Sacramento area has a fun group called The River City Geocaching & Dining Society. The web page is www.rcgds.net

On the 2nd Saturday of each month members of the RCGDS get together for some food and conversation. We share geocaching stories and enjoy the company of fellow geocachers.

If you need help getting started, you can post your questions here or on the RCGDS mail list. Instructions for the mail list are on the web site.

:D Thank you all for the replys. I will definatly check out the River City Geocaching..

As the the question that was asked, no I am not from Lincoln. What do you mean SN? I will have to check out the caches in Lincoln when I get going, It is not too far from me. Thanks.

Thank you for the invite to the Oroville Pizza Party, you are right it is a bit of a drive, but we will see. You never know where a "Sunday" drive will take you.

Again, thanks to everyone that replied.

Ahm, that's LooKiN' 4 FUN... As in, ''Take me caching.'' Come on Sacra-tomato's. One of our northern cachers friends must have a spare GPSr and some free time to take this adventure seeker out for a day. Right? :(

I am planning on driving up to Feather Falls this sunday and doing about 9-10 caches up there and the hike is kind of a long one (about 8.8 miles round trip) I will have an empty seat in the Jeep, and you are welcome to come along. By the way, do you have custom plates? I saw a minivan with LKN4FUN on it about 3 nights ago going North bound on Watt Avenue over the river @ about 5:45pm...

Dang, that sounds like a fun hike! Too bad I have plans (Fremont event cache). Maybe I will see ya on Saturday if you're at the RCGDS event. ;)
