bug and snake Posted February 14, 2004 Share Posted February 14, 2004 I bought a clipon reading light one time - the little thing with a battery box and a lamp that goes on the edge of a book. Know what I mean? That caught fire and actually set the book alight too. Only had two AA batteries in it! When I looked at it the wiring was wrong. There was a short circuit directly across the batteries and it was the small wire that had been connected there that heated up and caused the fire. I did go back to the store and we checked a few of the others in stock but they were correctly wired. I guess what I am saying is, BATCH testing is a bad thing! P.S. I am well aware this is not a geo-topic - well, a GPSr works on batteries too so just possibly...... Well, NAH! Quote Link to comment
