M and J
Hi all, (newbie) Have there been experiments with caching or bugs using both GPS and metal detectors for searching? Sounds like a fun match of hobbies. Thanks, Mick Quote Link to comment
+woo2
Awww, That's CHEATING!!! There's almost always metal in a cache! Search for hours like the rest of us! (Also there is a geocaching guideline rule of "no digging" to place or find a cache... if ya want to get all technical about it.) Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
It's been done and it's been tempting on Micro's except there is no gurantee that the contects will be metal. Normally I'm able to find ammo cans. Then again in winter under the snow... Quote Link to comment
+Contryguy
I have used my metal detector at least once to find a cache that was covered with grass and other things of that nature. I don’t always have the metal detector with me when I am geocaching though. Quote Link to comment
+Scout Master
We have a guyhere in Utah with a Metal detector who likes to look for caches burried in the snow. It works pretty good unless the snoe is too deep Quote Link to comment
