+Nebrcacher
I need a site that will give me GPS coordinates for an address. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
+Jared_and_Tanis
You can go to mappoint.msn.com and search for an address there. In the "Address" Bar of MS Internet Explorer, you will see something that looks like this: map.aspx?L=USA&C=38.95811%2c-104.75051&A=7.16667&P=|38.95811%2c-104.75051 The coordinates you need are right in there (bolded): map.aspx?L=USA&C=38.95811%2c-104.75051&A=7.16667&P=|38.95811%2c-104.75051 Of course, you'll probably have to convert them to put them into your GPS. As far as I know, this is the easiest way to find an address. ~Jared Edited February 7, 2004 by Jared_and_Tanis Quote Link to comment
+harleycache
I don't know about Magellon's mapping software, but with Garmin's Mapsource, you can get the coordinates for an address. I just put the cursor onto the point on the map, it shows the address, and at the bottom the coordinates. Quote Link to comment
+webscouter.
For a website you can use Geocode Test drive Eagle. Quote Link to comment
+Markwell
This question comes up quite frequently. There is a section at the top of the forums in Getting Started that links to some lists of Frequently Asked Questions. Here's a direct link to where I answer this question on my FAQ. In fact, this question's recurrence was the reason I started keeping track for an FAQ. Quote Link to comment

+hikemeister
On a related note -- is there a site where you can enter a GPS coordinate and see exactly where it is located? This would be helpful to someone trying to do some of the locationless caches that aim to find odd coordinates, such as a pair of quintuplets (e.g., 26 22.222 80 33.333). ?? Quote Link to comment

All you had to do was ask. Click here. This is from mapquest and is no longer accessible from their main page. Don't know how long this page will last but it comes in handy! Quote Link to comment
