+hwyman
Hi! I've been having this problem for a while. I use GPX files to get my waypoints. I've used EasyGPS to upload the waypoints to my Magellan Meridian Platinum, but only 25% of the waypoint have the message field populated with the cache name. The rest are empty. I've also used GSAK to do the upload directly and to export to Mapsend and do the upload from there. Same result. Interestingly, in Mapsend (topo and direct route) I can see that the message field is populated for all the waypoints, but most of it disappears when I do the upload. Is anyone else having problems with this? Is there a fix?? By the way, the cache names which are missing from the message field contain only letters and spaces. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
+TeamCNJC
It's not you - it's Magellan. Both the SporTrak and Meridian series have a 200 waypoint limit - 200 with comments, and an additional 300 without. Found this out the hard way - DirectRoute needs 50 empty waypoints (with empty comments) in order to tell you the name of the next turn. Quote Link to comment

First of all toss EasyGPS out the window as far as you can. GSAK will not only do all your uploading for you plus all the filtering and more but also won't TRASH the gpx files when you save them. There is a limit on the number of wp's you can upload to your Magellan until you loose the messages. I think it's 186 or something like that. Quote Link to comment
