+Out Wayne Gang Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 I've not been at this very long, but I've already rediscovered a very beautiful old hiking path that I hadn't been to in years, since my last visit, an artist has carved faces into many of the rocks along the trail and it gives it a very whimsical feel, my kids loved it! These are in Huntington, WV. There is nothing to give a sense of scale on that last one, but it is on a large boulder in a ravine and is at least 4 feet in diameter, pretty impressive. These three caches are along this trail: Tulip Tree Trail Trek, Forest Face, Deep Subject Thanks for sharing all of you pics, too bad I didn't know about geocaching when driving around the beautiful desert near Phoenix, AZ last year JW from OW Quote

The Indians would tie saplings down to mark a trail. Quote

I had to do a double take to see that it wasn't the same bridge. It's called the Abandoned Bridge to NARA GC1X32K Strange that there are no pictures on the cache logs. Quote

+t4e Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 (edited) The Green Lake in Tragöß, a municipality in the district of Bruck an der Mur in Styria, Austria The lake dries out almost completely in the fall. In the spring the lake is filled with snow melt runoff. This gives the lake crystal clear water, the existing rocks and meadow give the lake its green color. Edited January 30, 2010 by t4e Quote

+Wooden Cyclist Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Sometimes you have to look closely to see the beauty. We went on an ice walk today to find a cache on an island that is about 1/2 mile from shore. It was a beautiful day with plenty of opportunities to see beautiful scenery. But not all of the scenery involves looking into the distance. This crack in the ice as about 3/4" wide and is unimpressive at first glance. But if you look more closely you can see the crystals that have formed on the edges of the crack. Quote

+Ambrosia Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Sunrise at E Coli Picnic One of the nicest DNF's. ...and more interesting names Yes... I wondered about that too. MrsB Yeah, the cache is in Ecola State Park, and the cache owner was just making a funny play on that. When my husband and I were discussing going to Ecola State Park, he said that sounded too much like E Coli. I laughed, and said that's exactly what the cache owner named the cache. Quote
+Kacher The Dog Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 What amazing pictures you've all taken! This seems quite paltry in comparison. It is of Gwithian Towans in west Cornwall England. We were searching for Towan Time.... Quote
