The 2 Dogs Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 Out there, I am sure there are some caches enjoying views that are to die for. Why not share your best of the best here. My favorite was taken at "The Paramount Peak" cache in the Snowy Mountains of NSW Australia. Hope you like it. Quote
+Mr.Benchmark Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 Here's one I took on vacation in Sedona earlier this year, in Crescent Moon Ranch State Park. We were looking for a micro cache, and honestly, when we got there, the view was so amazing that I had a hard time concentrating on finding the cache. Even if I'd logged a DNF on the cache I'd have gone away happy! Quote
+rusty_tlc Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 Back in December I "took" this picture from the Coyote's On The Border Cache cache (GCH9BD). Quote
+Touchstone Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 (edited) I've seen so many great spots because of geocaching, unfortunately, I don't always have my camera with me . One of my favorite pictures is the one I used for a virtual along the Monterey Penninsula. Edited February 6, 2004 by Touchstone Quote
+Halden Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 Wow you guys are giving me great Desktops. Keep 'em coming! Quote

+briansnat Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 (edited) Not sure its close to my greatest, but one of the few I have since I only got my digital camera a a few months ago. Its from the Governor Mtn/Cupsaw Cache near Ringwood NJ. Going through my gallery, I found this taken near the Lighthouse Cache in Presque Island SP in PA. +CWL Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 (edited) I got two pretty good ones, but I probably runined them when I shruck them down to upload them to the site... This is a view of Reelfoot lake in TN at the Pitcher This cache... This is a view of Kentucky Lake (TN River)at the final leg of Big Oak Cache...... edited to add cache links... +maleki Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 Certainly one of our favorites and the quickest to find this AM. We Be Jeep'n A great cache near Moab Utah. I believe the mountain in the far distance is Mt. Peale. There is a cache there near the summit(GC18B7) that we hope to do next time in the area as well as many caches in between. Interestinlgy, from a geocaching point of view, another mt. near Mt. Peale is Mt. Waas. Seems like that one begs for a cache if there's not already one there. Quote
+treemoss2 Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 How does one put a photo on here? Can you drag and drop or do you have to put the url in? I have no url for a photo that comes out of my dig pics file. I know how to put in a pic in a log, but the same method doesn't work here. Also how do you set up a hyperlink on here? I tried to put one in per my favorites, but it did not go. Quote

I tried to put one in per my favorites, but it did not go. use the img button, which will ask for the url to the pic. If its uploaded to a cache page just like to to, if not upload to cache page or your profile so you have someplace to link to. +CacheCreatures Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 Since one of our favorite caches "Wait Until Dark" requires that you do it at night, the view was of a city in lights. Then, we looked up and saw this: This view is of SF, the city by the bay, taken at "Island 2: Treasure Island" Thanks for the great thread! Quote
+Jamie Z Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 Wow. What kind of camera are you using that has a 4-blade aperture? Great pics, everyone. CacheCreatures, what are we looking at there? Jamie Quote

The 2 Dogs Posted February 6, 2004 Author Posted February 6, 2004 Thanks for all the great photos so far. Beeeeautiful. Criminal, I'm especially interested in alpine photos, Where was your one (second from the bottom) taken? Quote
+carleenp Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 The Platte River in summer. Big sky out here (and not much river at that time of year) Quote
+Criminal Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 Thanks for all the great photos so far. Beeeeautiful. Criminal, I'm especially interested in alpine photos, Where was your one (second from the bottom) taken? From top to bottom: 1. Big Quilcene trail. Notice how much better the photo quality is in this photo as compared to the others. I used my new canon S30 3.2 megpixal for this one, the rest were my old 1.2 sony mavica. 2. Mt. Persis View cache. It was unbelievably cold and windy that day. Moun10bike has a couple mpegs somewhere on his site of that day. This is in the Cascades 3. This is Cache landing at Tulls Canyon in the Olympics. The glare on the lens is apparent. I hope to make CarleenP hike up here next summer when she visits. 4. This one is from the Tubal Cain trail near the mines. The trail is attached to the Tulls canyon trail. 5. This one is Gothic Basin in the Cascades. I bagged #100 this day. 6. This one is on the beach on Fox Island near my home. The huge boulder in the background has (or had) a benchmark on it. Quote
+gebu Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 I love these kinds of topics. Both photos were taken pretty much right at the cache location. Cache "Kanzel" Cache "Fire & Steel I" Quote

Radman Forever Posted February 9, 2004 Posted February 9, 2004 (edited) It's nothing special, it's just a lost lake in the middle of the woods in Northern Michigan. But visiting this site made me realize that geocaching gives me the ability to visit places I've never even heard about. This is what made me stay in geocaching. Edited February 9, 2004 by radman_7_of_8 Quote
+briansnat Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 (edited) These aren't mine, but they come from the logs of my The Great Falls of the Passaic cache. Actually, its not the photos that are so impressive; rather its the place they were taken. In the middle of Paterson, NJ. Paterson is an industrial city, not known for its beauty (to put it politely). The falls though are a different story. They are the second largest, by volume, next to Niagra Falls in the east.
