Recommended Posts

I just updated the list of GPX-enabled programs at http://www.topografix.com/gpx_resources.asp

Are there any I've missed?

GPX 1.0 is supported by the following GPS programs:

CacheDragon (PocketPC - geocaching software)

CacheMate (PalmOS - geocaching database)

CetusGPS (PalmOS - navigation software)

EasyGPS (Windows - free GPS software for Garmin, Magellan, and Lowrance receivers)

ExpertGPS (Windows - GPS mapping software with topo maps, aerial photos, and scanned map support)

GeoConv (Windows/DOS - batch coordinate and datum converter)

GPI (Windows - converts GPX to MapSource PCX5 format)

GPSBabel (Multiple Platforms - Source Code Available - converts many formats)

GPS TrackData (Windows - Convert CetusGPS files)

GPS Utility (Windows - GPS mapping software)

GPS Visualizer (Online Tool for converting GPX to SVG maps and elevation profiles)

GSAK (Windows - Geocaching Swiss Army Knife for OziExplorer)

GPX Connect (Mac OS X - waypoint transfer for Garmin)

gpxExchange (Windows, add-in for Microsoft MapPoint)

GPXSonar (PocketPC - Geocaching logbook)

GpxView (PocketPC - Geocaching viewer)

MagCon (Palm - For Magellan receivers)

MyGPS (Windows - view Garmin GPS data on calibrated maps)

QuakeMap (Windows - view recent earthquake locations)

TopoFusion (Windows - combine your tracklogs into trail networks)

Spinner (Online Tool for Geocaching)

Watcher (Windows - Geocaching tool)

Wissenbach Map (Windows - Source Code Available - create your own trail maps)

GPXDoc probably doesn't meet your criteria, as it doesn't do anything really useful without the Groundspeak extensions.

Neither does Watcher. If I'm remembering right, Watcher won't even function without the Groundspeak extensions (intentionally).

Also, Spinner is also available as an offline, windows app.

CacheDragon (PocketPC - geocaching software)

From my own experience, from the writings of others, from what the author did (stop in the middle of development with users contributions) I wouldn't add that program to a list of deleted files.

And other than GSAK and GPXSonar there are no others needed anyway.

IMO

GSAK (Windows - Geocaching Swiss Army Knife for OziExplorer)

Sorry to be picky, but could you drop the "for OziExplorer". GSAK does have very good integration with OziExplorer. However it is now a much more rounded applicaton, and also supports many other formats.

Thanks

Clyde is correct, of course. I have never even seen OziExplorer, but I use GSAK all the time. GSAK converts the .gpx files to .html (or loads of other formats if you want), and uploads the waypoints to my GPS. If it could just do the final conversion of the html to Plucker format, or anything else readable on the Palm, I'd be a really ecstatic cacher, not just a very happy one.
